Hello ALL: Every Time I open a viewer I get this error: Microsoft visual C++ runtime library -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Please help to figure out what i may have done to my computer. I open a video viewer and I get this error message. Runtime Error! Program:C:\programfiles\internetexplorer\iexplorer .exe This application has requested to terminate. Then Everything closes. I don't have a google toolbar so that isn't it. Please advice

I tried to use Windows media player to watch a DVD movie (New not burned). The movie is a wide screen version and I have a 26" LCD wide screen monitor. When I play DVD I get a wide screen version but it is fairly small. When I click full screen I get a slightly larger version but no where near "full" wide screen size. I used the 200% enlargement with little effect. I also tried changing screen reolution to various settings with the 1260x720 giving the largest actual picture, but agin only about half of the actual screen is being used. When I run other progams on the PC I get to use the entire screen. Is there a simple solution to this problem? As a side not media p…

My system crash from trojan.startpage being unable access partition (bad MBR) so I installed winXP on an unused partition was able to bootup. Then used a Demo of "Partition Table Doctor" it fixed it I guess becouse I can access it in dos promt as F: drive but "Partition table doctor" won't make it active unless I buy full version. Is there a way to change it to C: and make active and what do I do with the partition that I have windows on right now

keyboard hotkey\extra key problem I have a Microsoft 1.0a wireless keyboard. It works fine except for my hotkey\extra keys. Half work and half dont. the ones that don,t work are my music, my pictures, my documents and log off. Can anyone help me please Thanks Leon

I am thinking of purchasing a 100GB Hard Drive and would like to know what would be the procedure to transfer what I have already unto the new drive? I don't wish to have to re-install windows or anything else and would like to "transfer" everything from my existing 40Gb drive to the new drive, I simply need more space, help please? Thanks.

Windows XP recognizes the drive [ I am able to view all properties for the drive via Disk management ], but will only allow an application, such as File Explorer, Winzip, RescuePRO, etc. to access the device "one time" and will not allow subsequent access to the drive Let me explain the above statement by example. Hi all, I need some help.. I am not sure if its to do with software or hardware. I own a HP ze5185. I am having sound issues. I contacted HP and they told me to install the driver for the Conenext. I did that. I got my little icon on the bottom and when i try to test my sound now it comes up with a DPVSETUP.EXE error about going to the control panel and setting all the stuff up. I did that. Everything is fine when I start win98. Desktop loads fine, but about 15-20 seconds later I get an illegal operation. I can quickly see that sstray is at fault. If I click fast on close it goes away after 2 or 3 clicks. Then another illegal operation shows that something in kernel caused the error. I can't get all the info because if I stop to read it..I can't get rid of the illegal operation button and nothing works. I can't shut down, not even with power. I have to unplug the computer to shut it down. HELP THanks

When you start typing in a URL and you see it filtering through the words from the first letter, what is this feature called please? Reason I'm asking is, my music software has a Search function which when I start typing, from the very first letter, I will see the first letter of every song in my Music Library, then the more letters I type, it will continue filtering through the words. ok i dont know if this is the right thread to be writing in but i need some help. i was in the add remove programs do get rid of some things and i deleted my sound thing because when i go to conrol panel then to sounds and audio devices it says no audio device. so i cant listin to any sounds at all. i do not know what to do please help me.

I have a Radeon 9600 Pro and recently the fan started making a weird noise, so I popped off the case and took a look inside, and the fan is actually turning quite slow but I guess the motor is grinding on it and hence the weird sound. So it's like the motor is not tight enough on the actual fan part. If I tap it, it catches again and spins faster, but doesn't last long and goes back to turning slow again. Anything I can do to fix it Can i pull on (unplug) the fan of my Radeon 9600 pro ? P.S. The card is only some months old, I don't even think I had it for a year.

I have a dead Gateway and want to rescue the Soundblaster card to run my Boston BA735 Digital Speakers which basically won't work on any other computer. The box of the dead computer is open, and there are two wires connected to the soundcard, one going to what looks like the modem and one going into the inner workings. How do i disconnect these connections safely before pulling out the card ? Also, will I need to reconnect them in the new computer ? It already has onboard sound drivers, but as I said they can't run these speakers. Is there anything else I will need to know when putting the soundcard into the new computer? I'm running a small business repairing pc's and I have a customer who can not install XP Pro on their new machine. It's custom built and is intended to be a gaming pc. I've purchased a (refurb) Gateway 840GM running XP Home SP2 with Media Center 2005. I've tried to attach a DSL router, and the speakers which were included with the system. Both times, when I started the computer after attaching 1 of the above, I get "MBR Error" (no number). Fortunately, Norton GoBack (from SystemWorks 2006) has allowed me to go back to a point in time where I could successfully boot the computer into Windows, and use it normally. I do not have restore CDs, and only have an upgrade copy of XP. Before attempting (the first) restore via GoBack, I could get the system to boot up with the upgrade XP CD (after numerous attempts).
