I have a (relatively) new XP pro laptop (dell) and I want to disable the mouse middle-click "Scroll" icon that appears in Word, Excel, IE, etc. My Mouse properties doesn't have any reference to such feature (that I've found). The only reference to Middle button is the Alps Touchpad's button definition where clicking Both buttons is equivalent to "Middle Button Click". I'm using an old Logitech USB First Mouse+ and I didn't load any drivers for it. The properties indicate that it's using Microsoft's driver of 7/1/2001, version 5.1.2600.0 I also have Tweak UI v 2.10.0.0 installed but I don't see anything relavent to my problem. Any ideas? TIA

I have vista home premium and when I watch progress of Norton full scan I see c:\programs\keylogger5\watchdll.dll and also keylogger pro. I only know because I was quick enough to pause the scan. does this mean i have a keylogger on my computer or does the scan also pick up on viewed internet pages... - how do I find out - there is nothing in programmes and vista is not like XP.

Is it possible to disable Ping reply on Windows Vista Home Basic or its Windows Firewall? The setting is recommended by GRC's ShieldsUP making my PC invisible on the Internet.

I would like to delete Microsoft Office also. Is not Microsoft Word Processor under Microsoft Works just as good or Open Office? If I delete Office, it should not delete Works, right?

Hey guys, I just got my Dell Server a few days ago with Windows Small Business Server 2003. I went into Internet Information Services and created my website. After that I mapped the wwwroot folder on my Vista machine using the administrator credentials on the server. Now I am trying to create folders inside the wwwroot folder to store images and do other stuff but Windows doesn't let me. I went into the website properties and selected the boxes for Read, Write, etc. All of them are selected but for some reason it still doesn't let me. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance, Teo

I've been having problems with my computer, so I used the Hardware Diagnostics Tool application and then did the system test. And it told me my computer failed the SMART Short Self Test. Is there anything I can do to fix this?

Well I believe now that explorer 7 does not function properly and opera is much better in (XP) but has anyone tried opera in Vista instead of explorer which keeps on crashing and not responding all the time. I am using opera on another PC which has Xp and it way much faster and stable but I just got a new laptop with vista home and wanted to consider any feedbacks.

Hi. I just installed Vista.. I notice, that at the start the HD is working heavily, and the cache increases at the same time, to the point that the RAM is completely filled with the cache. Can I control this cache settings? How much is the performance penalty, if Windows Defender is active? (core 2 duo, 2.13 ghz, 2 gb ram) Does Readyboost makes sense?

Never had problem with Windows Vista til today. Problem started a little bit after uninstalling webcam software that would not fully download. Usually when i put CDs/DVD in there they automatically pop up with out doing anything. But now when i put CD/DVD, computer does not even read it. The little light will blink for fews seconds but after that nothing would happen. Not even an error message. I also cant find D drive How can i get this working again?

i have a trashed pc but i have access to the dbx files when i simply copy them into the correct folder and open oe i can not read the mail inside i have created a new folder called archive1 in outlook and closed oe then navigated and renamed achive1 to archiveold and renamed inbox.dbx to archive1 but when i open oe i still dont see any email in there please help i have no hair to pull out

Whenever I try to open Defender I get and application Error: "Application failed to initialize:0x80070006. The Handle is invalid." When I try to download it and reinstal, it says Vista has it! Please help, I also started Windows Narrator, and now its in the starpup, I guess, Can not turn it off. Please help. Note I also have the OneCare service... Thank you
