  1. Lenovo has released a tool to help users remove Superfish, according to a statement released today by the company. Superfish is an adware program that was pre-installed on Lenovo's consumer PCs and made users vulnerable to attack. The Superfish bug quickly went from bad to worse yesterday when researchers found and published a password that would allow anyone to unlock the certificate authority and bypass the computer's web encryption. With the password and the right software, a person on the same Wi-Fi network as a bugged Lenovo user could potentially spy on that user, or insert malware into the data stream. Users need to uninstall Superfish and remove the certif…

Anyone here on the 64 bit beta version of Chrome? If so what do you think of the new bookmark manager? I personally find it interesting but very under-developed. If you are unfamiliar with this new feature it is basically a GUI for bookmarks. It provides an interface much like the Win 8 start menu.

  7. There is no doubt over the last 24 hours or so you have heard and read a lot about this entire Superfish malware incident with Lenovo. Lenovo has released a few different statements over that same period of time plus they have been active on social media eventually taking ownership of the poor decisions that were made. In addition, they have promised to move the discussion forward within the industry relating to what is pre-installed on consumer computers. Of course, as a couple of commenters have said on our site and social media, Lenovo’s actions will speak louder than any apology they offer. The following is an official statement from Lenovo about the inci…

  11. Update: Lenovo has now provided an official corporate statement about the Superfish situation and it is not going to help at all in my opinion. Original article... I think the conversation about the extras installed on OEM computers is about to heat up and one company we have to thank for that is the one in the hottest seat of them all – Lenovo and their Superfish story. Over on the Cigital Justice League Blog there is an excellent summary of just how bad this is: It is hard to overstate how catastrophically bad this design is. It doesn’t merely insert advertisements into web pages. It undermines every secure connection the Windows computer might make. Lots of…

Here’s a guide to Linux, showing why intermediate and advanced Windows users might want to take a look at this open-source operating system. site) released a version that was acceptable to an average personal-computer user. 16. We're all so used to buying a phone with intentions of using it on a carrier that we often don't consider what it will operate like without a SIM in it. Rest assured that your phone will operate just fine without active service from a carrier, leaving it as a Wifi-only device. Looking to order an unlocked [Galaxy Note 4] N910A off eBay. I'm moving in a couple of months, but where I live now I have no service at all so I'm wondering if I can use the phone's Wifi features in the mean time or do I need to activate it with a carrier before I can use any features at all? Whether you're buying to use the phone on Wifi permanently or just for a short period of time — perha…

Hi! Want to share this before I forget it. Tried to scan with my HP all in one today. Would not scan wireless to my Toshiba laptop. I down loaded the HP Print and Scan Doctor . This tool uninstalled my printer and reinstalled it with all the drivers. The printer is working again just like it's supposed to. If you have a HP printer you need the HP Print and Scan Doctor. This tool blew my mind. I 'm a happy camper. It was do easy to run. I can not believe how easy it was to fix my printer. http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?cc=us&lc=en&jumpid=ex_r4155/hho/ipg/ccdoc/printer_diag/&softwareitem=mp-141412-1

Hey Pete, someone wants me to remotely fix their pc to get rid of ZLH.EXE prompt stating: The message "ZLH.EXE cannot be found." keeps popping up every hour or so, and when I close it, another error message appears. I can close them both, and my pc works fine after that, but its pretty annoying I found this tutorial here: http://www.fixerrorkit.com/fix-error/fix-ZLH.EXE-error.html I am wondering if it's safe to run the pcfixkit mentioned in that article please?

I'm sure this is all old stuff to most of you, but maybe there is some one not familiar with the snipping tool. I haven't used the old prtsc sense I found the Window snipping tool. That's the way all my screen shots are made in my attachments! Trying to keep the forum active for guests!:thinker: Here's link about the snipping tool!;);) There's a old saying that a picture is worth a thousand words, or some thing like that. I suppose I'm the king of attachments here on the forum. I only bring this up because Comcast was a topic of conversation at the Wednesday night Paltalk chat. And I stand behind my statement of I will not give Comcast one nickel of my money. http://consumerist.com/2015/02/12/comcast-accidentally-receives-customers-rent-check-cashes-it-anyway/ I can see any company not wanting to send money back to the customer due to error, well because that is usually company policy. The part about this that gets me is the fact that Comcast doesn't even check to see who the check is made out to. This could lead to all sorts of problems on the side of Comcast. I guess your bank doesn't check either, oh that's right because a check is no l…
