I have the following problem: I have email1, email2, email3 on domain A and email1 on domain B. On the server I have a virtual domain A. If I sent an mail intern from email1 to email3 in domaina.nl it is switched intern. But if I send a mail to email2@domaina.nl that isn't in the virtual domain, I get not able to deliver mail. How do I set the server to send it to outside if the recipient doesn't exist in local virtual domain?

Ive got a small problem that I am hoping that there is someone out there who will be able to help me with. I am doing a course at the Open University that requires me to to run Windows Server 2008 on it. However when I try to do this I get the following message. "This computer does not have enough space for temporary files. Windows installation needs at least 455 megabytes (mb) of space on any partition for temporary files. To install Windows, free enough space and restart the installation" I would greatly appreciate any help that someone might be able to give.

  4. So anyway, normally we use linux because of the fatal perpetual security hazards that Microsoft inflicts on the world. However enough people are totally oblivious to the hard realities, and uneducated enough to feel comfortable with Microsoft servers in their company. I am tasked with getting $M's version of a communication server going to provide an additional product offering. Install Attempt Anyhow, with the server 2008 trail disk from Microsoft, it simply wont detect the sata hard drives in a raid 1 configuration. Windows XP does, Linux does, How to force Windows 2008 to see the drives so that an install is possible ?

On many websites, when I try to print the web page it simply does not work When I just select "Print", essentially nothing happens, no error, no print, nothing. When I select "Print Preview", I get a blank page and the page count starts counting and continues up to many hundreds before IE7 crashes. I can prevent the crash if I exit print preview before it goes over 700 pages. After that it becomes unstable and will continue counting until it crashes. Is there any way to fix this? Using IE7, version 7.0.5730.13CO, on Windows XP, SP2 system. -- Thank you, John Gregory

This solution doesn't work for me. The only way I can print from IE8 is if I first disable Protected Zone. I'm running 64 bit Windows 7. I just installed Windows 2008 sever and created an account for myself to test. I found while reading around on the internet that Group Policy is the new way to set up mapped drives for users. I have created a policy to map three drives for the domain users. Now when I go to login from my Win 7 Pro and Ultimate machines, I don't get any mapped drives. I can't seem to figure out where the issue is. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi. I am looking for camera drivers. This Vista machine only has one in its camera list.. Kodak. I currently need drivers for an Olympus Fe-170 so I can get my photos from the camera to the computer. Olympus tells me that microsoft has the drivers built in, but they are not in this machine, and the computer does not recognize my camera. I used to have a disc, but lost it during a move and have a different computer now. Where can I go to find the drivers needed to download my photos. and, if possible, I would like to expand the list to include other camera brands as well.

My company is currently running on Windows 2008 R2 Standard. We have quarterly scans for PCI Compliance(credit card industry security standards). We currently need to disable SSL 2.0. I looked up how to do it but nothing I have found has told me how to make sure SSL 3.0 is working. (I'm fresh out of school and still green) We currently use outlook anywhere at one location to get emails from another location. We also have a sharepoint site we need to get up and running in the not too distant future. So as far as my knowledge goes I need some form of SSL running. SSL 3.0 is compliant so that is why I am asking about it. Any ideas on how I can get 3.0 so I don't brea…

  14. Hello Everyone, My name is Yekini and I have been studying Active Directory 2008 for some time now and so far, everything has been going great until I started studying and trying to master inter-site replications in Active Directory Sites & Services. Yes, we have intra-site and inter-site replications. In a nutshell, I completely I understood the whole concepts and configurations that needs to be down in Active Directory Sites & Services in order to implement inter-sites replications. I also understand with the basic fundamental principle of TCP/IP addressing system, private ip addresses scheme are non-routable on the public network (internet) unless a defau…

We have a network here with about 25-30 people connecting through. We do not have an official "Server" but all the computers are connected to a PC which holds the network documents Our issue is that we need to secure certain files and folders so that certain users can or cannot access them What is a secure way of doing this while still being cost conscious? Thanks alot for your help

  16. Hi there, I recently made the mistake of installing Windows Server 2003 on a blank hard drive that happened to be hooked up to a computer running Windows Server 2008. I booted from the Windows 2003 CD and directed it to install on the empty hard drive. I didn't expect it to change anything on my main hard drive. When I rebooted, the computer automatically defaulted to Server 2003, without giving me the option of choosing which operating system to boot under. When I changed the boot drive sequence to only boot from my Windows 2008 hard drive, it still kept booting from the hd containing 2003. When I examine the contents of the separate hard drives, it appears that 20…

Is it better to migrate from a 2003 domain to a 2008 domain using migration or by creating a whole new domain? Also have an Exchange 2003 server that I want to move to 2008. Getting ready to move to virtual and want new server OS.

  18. Hi I have installed Windows Server 2008 and active directory is configured on it. I want to configure print server where in I should be able to control all the users in domain through this and I should be able to give permissions to the users who really need the printer access - I want to do this to avoid local printer installation. Can some one help me by providing step by step process to accomplish this task. Thanks for the help.

Hi all you helpful people :) So here's my problem: At my school, they've for some reason chosen to teach us about Windows Server 2003, which I think is stupid, so I asked my teacher why we didn't use the updated Windows Server 2008. His reply was that you could do the exact same things in Windows Server 2003 as you can in 2008. He continued by telling me if I could find -one- thing you can do in Windows Server 2008 that you can't in 2003, he would get me a copy of 2008, and consider upgrading to 2008 for my class. I can't say I'm much of an expert at Windows Server, so I decided to come here and ask you people if you could help me find out a major difference be…

I have installed the domain controller in Server 2008 and configured it. now after making an OU i have created a user. And added a group policy from GROUP POLICY MANAGEMENT with the name test1. And then link the OU with the new added policy. But it is not working on the client side. In the report of setting TAB it show all the policies those i have added.

  22. I wonder if any of you clever people can help me? My son is running XP on his netbook. He has numerous problems getting and keeping it online, which I have today mostly resolved (fingers crossed...) I have been to the windows online protection center and performed an online virus scan, and cleaned up the disk etc. I have removed all other security programs (not sure what has been on it before but I have removed via add/remove progs some Norton stuff). I have tried to install MSE, which goes on without problems, but when I try to update the definitions I get the following error message... Error code: 0x80072efe Error description: Microsof…

Hi guys iv installed this process and it looks like iv configured it to work as the help file shows but im having some difficulty's with getting the machines to use the service, iv also noticed that when i try to browse to the server on port 8530 (which is the correct port) i get nothing. I have edited the default GPO to automatically go to the update server for its updates and ran a gpupdate and the machines still dont populate the "computer" box. Any ideas where i am going wrong?

  24. We are running a Server 2008 R2 with SQL Server 2008 and IIS 7 installed. This has been running with no problems since March, last week it had 2 unexpected reboots, and so far this week 1 reboot. I've checked the EventLog, but not found any events before the reboot that relates to this. I've also had a check of a MEMORY.DMP file with WinDbg, but I didn't find a good reason there, this is my first time. It does mention PROCESS_NAME as ekrn.exe (NOD32). This is installed in version 4.0.132 on the server. Any ideas on what can be done? I've attached the result from WinDbg when opening the Memory.dmp file.

Hello all, we are upgrading our old terminal server 2003 to a new higher end server with terminal server 2008. We also will be upgrading the domain controller from SBS 2003 to 2008 shortly. I was advised to build a test environment for the terminal server which i did. I have got the server running and had tested it in my office with our local printers, We couldn't really get the easy print working 100% so just decided to find drivers for all the printers on the network and install them on the server. This seems to work fine. Yesterday i setup the 2008 terminal on the domain and give access for 2 or 3 people to test before i switch over 100%. This is wher…
