I've just installed Windows Server 2008 as my workstation. I installed the latest stable uTorrent. When I went to download a torrent I get this message Attached file: Untitled1242162087.jpg (14 KB) I have tried googling a solution but no one offers a solution I can understand. I didn't come across anything that says it utorrent can't be used on Server 2008. I think it might have something to do with permissions.

Hi everybody, I'm a new user and I am not that good at Server OS. I am useing Windows Home Server Vail . As far as I got to know it is the same kernel as Windows Server 2008 R2. A few months ago I installed the WHS system and everything was all right. Besides to the folders existing ones on the system, I added (created) a few additional disk folders. The Server consists of 8 disks of 1,5 TB and an additional disk for draft. Recently the computer started showing blue screens. As a result of this a few of the disks became unaccessible. I can see them in My Computer, but I can't select them (clisking on them I can't access them: see attached picture). I t…

I have numerous servers which randomly hang at the welcome screen. The only way to connect is to reboot the server. A few times I have been connected while others cannot connect. I was even able to disconnect, then reconnect while the others could not. Any ideas? Thanks.

I need to support a unix utility, cURL, in Windows Server 2003 R2. SFU 3.5 and the SUA don't appear to support this utility. Does anyone have a solution that is license-able and redistributable? Please educate me if SFU or SUA support this utility. Thanks much.

I've installed Windows Server 2008 R2 on a new computer with Intel quadcore processor, a 30GB SSD as system disk and 2 500GB sata-2 drives in mirror as datadrive. There are two client computers connected, each running WIndows XP with SP3. The same clients ran on the NT-server that was used before without any problem. I have disconnected them from the NT-domain and connected them to the new domain. The problem is that after the user has filled in his name and password it takes minutes of time before the system is ready to use. I do not use a logon-script and no roaming profiles. The only drivemapping used is made local and the printers are installed local as well. Doe…

Hi guys, I am trying to share a folder called "USERS" in my windows 2008 server as following, Please notice!! "USERS" folder has users in it like: Charles, John, Daniel, Pete etc. Now, - Administrator/administrators will have full rights to the "USERS" folder and everything in it. - Charles will have rights to only "Charles" folder, John will have rights to only "John" folder etc. I have tryed in millions of ways with zero success! Administrator rights does work but user rights no! Server says "acces denied" when the user tryes to create a folder/file or delete a folder/file. Can someone please help me about how to do this? Hi there For some reason the field order for the W3C log is:- Date time s-ip cs-method cs-url stem cs-uri-query s-port cs-username c-ip ... Log fields (in prior versions of IIS) have always started with Date Time c-ip .............. Makes them very easy to read and track the client IP - this way the Client IP is buried and real pain! Any idea how this can be changed? Thanks Oh - cannot login with IE9 - clicking the button has no effect!

Heyho, Today I installed Exchange Server 2007 SP1 for the first time on my Windows Server 2008 R2. The installation went fine (with Vista SP2 compatibility mode), but suddenly my coworkers complained that my website was unreachable. What a mess. Suddenly I got a nasty http:500 error that some plugin for my OWA service was unable to load instead of my homepage. I was pretty much angry, because Exchange installed all those webservice without asking me in critical regions. I deinstalled my exchange server and had to make a new IIS entry for my website on my server, because I was not able to rescue my old set up (which was build on the default IIS entry). Okay some d…

we have just moved our phyical server to a VPS with FastHosts! All works perfectly until Windows Server 2008R2 decides to automatically update itself periodically and I cannot for the life of me work out how to change the settings manually - they are all greyed out and unavailable even though I am logged in as as adminsitrator. BEER TOKENS available to anyone who can either set up our machine the way I want it or who can explain to me how to successfully get into the auto-updates settings so that I can set them to manual please?!?!? Hi, I have a Win 2008 R2 server that connects to two different subnets. It should serve as DHCP server for both subnets, e.g. first 192.168.1.1..126 second 192.168.1.128..254 Both network interfaces of the server are bound to the DHCP server, and I've created two scopes for the subnets. How could I solve to give IP addresses from the first pool (scope) for the first subnet and addresses from the second pool (scope) for the second subnet? At this time client from both subnets receive TCP/IP config but the IP addresses do not conform the above mentioned requirement.
