I'm a student and managed to get copy of Server Standard from my university for free (through the MSDNAA). I had been running server running fedora 12 but I thought it would be good to become familiar with windows server as well.

Hey everyone, As the title states, complete newcomer to server administration looking to learn as much as possible to get myself back in the IT field. I have a little experience in the field having done tech support for a local WISP back in '07/'08, left the job for personal reasons and haven't been able to get back in since so I am trying to make myself as marketable as possible by studying in my off time from my current job. I have a LOT of computer experience starting from a very young age (5 or 6 I believe) and from my own hobbies with computer gaming I have picked up a lot of good knowledge about PC's. I just have no official training or schooling in the are…

I always feel as though these things are like an AA meeting :) So with that ... Hi, I'm Andy, and I'm a Windows user. (I do try to quit, but it never quite works out.) I've been in IT for longer than I can remember, but I'm finally starting to take more than a passing interest in the Windows Server side of things, specifically 2008 R2, which I'm using the rather nice 180-day trial of right now. I've got some experience of Windows Server 2003 Standard, but only really in a workgroup environment. I've managed to get 2008 R2 configured in a test domain environment with little to no trouble, but I know I'm going to be running into problems, and this site seems lik…

HeyHey.... >_> I discovered this forum during my search for a driver for the microtek 3630 scanmaker... unfortunately microtek's site's download link is broken or it could be my connection (highly doubtful...) anyway... Greetings to all of you and hopefully someone might have a copy or perhaps just happen to know the address for one (that works -_-) In addition to microtek's site, I found also driver32 (which uses microtek's home download..) and driverguide.com (which seems to be hosting a currupted driver)

Hi I'm Nicki I'm not a techie, or even a hobbyist, but I am the one who has to sort out my kids laptops when they mess around with them (physically and virtually!) I'm here for advice and you'll find me in the window update section. Hoping some of you more technically minded people can help me and teach me! In return I can tell you about childbirth, since midwifery is my trade! Thanks

Hi all, I'm not new to forums, just new to this one. I have decided, after much thought to go from Windows XP Pro to Windows 7 Home Premium. I'm going to need a bit of help getting there.
