Hello to all you MS folks. I'm from Croatia, 25 years old. I'm currently in possesion of Cisco CCNP and CCDA. I have experiance in core networking, MPLS, etc, but recently I changed a job and I found my self eyes to eyes with MS 2k8 server, i accepted job of junior server administrator because I know i don't have very much experiance with it. But I'm willing to learn and in past month i read numerous books on that topic. But books don't mean anything without real thing, so sorry in advance for stupid questions :)

Hi everyone, im Tiago from Portugal and im finishing a course in computing but it didnt touch to much with servers and stuff and now i have to do a tutorial "how to install server 2008 and make it hosting files in a local network"... And im a starter with the SO, i need some help to get the job done, put the server 2008 (server computer) hosting other computers in the local network files... it might be simple but im really strungling to learn and dunno how... so much to learn and i have no time... hope here i can get some useful help... and stay here to learn a few more things with time... who knows... regards

I'm a student and managed to get copy of Server Standard from my university for free (through the MSDNAA). I had been running server running fedora 12 but I thought it would be good to become familiar with windows server as well.

Greetings Everyone, I am joining due to my hardware background is now being utilized as an IT admin for my son's school. I have no windows server experience what so ever. I am going to try to crash course this as this summer I will have to deploy a new server! YELP! Currently I am in charge (using the term loosely, I more just watch) 1 Windows Server 2003 Ent - (Domain, DNS, SQL, Roaming Profiles, Etc) 60ish Systems 90 Users If anyone could point me in the right direction to start learning WS2008R2 I would greatly appreciate it! I apologize in advance for all my dumb questions!

Hello all, I've been appointed to administer a couple of servers with win 2008 server installed. Since our IT resigned in a quite unpolite way i was forced to implement myself itno his place (at this point i'm happy). Unfortunately I'm quite a newbie of windows server 2008, I'd appreciate every help and support from You guys and girls, ladies and jentelmen. I have a book, which could give me a couple of clues, but it is always usefull to back up with someone else's experience. I hope to get as much support as it is only possible. Hi, I'm taking a class on Computer Networks this semester in which we are using Server 2008 so I thought joining this forum could be useful. I also had a question. Is there a limit to how many VPS can be run on a single machine? Or is it just however many it is capable of?

Hi I have been developing and hosting websites for years now on shared hosting. My friend built a Win 2008 server and made me a hyper-v with a public ip address. It's a new world,yet so far so good. Hopefully this site will be useful to me and perhaps my own experiences may be useful to others.
