Hi I have been developing and hosting websites for years now on shared hosting. My friend built a Win 2008 server and made me a hyper-v with a public ip address. It's a new world,yet so far so good. Hopefully this site will be useful to me and perhaps my own experiences may be useful to others.

Hello everyone, My name is Blue and I am a software application tester in the telecom industry. I have worked on PC and mainframes for about 10 years and always learning something new or at least trying to about computers. That is what brings me here to find assistance with my home PC. Hi, Courtney from OutboundMusic.com here. We've just upgraded from our windows 2003 server to 2008. We're music broadcasters, and I refer to the file details often. On the 2003 server, details such as "duration" were showing on the files, but even though I am checking the box for those to show, they aren't showing on 2008. The file is the same, so I know that property is included in the file information. I'm sure it's a simple solution, but I can't figure out how to make my necessary file details show. Does anyone out there know what I need to do?

Hello I am a systems administrator with 20 years experience. Administered Windows desktops and severs with Unix and Linux. Brief experience with Novell too. I have over a decades experience with Samba. At a previous employer, there were Windows Severs, but was not responsible for administering those boxes. One of the accounting packages which will be used is not supported by Linux using Samba and as such have started to work on deploying at Windows Server box at one of my locations. Hi everyone, I'm not certain this is the right forum for me but I am really frustrated right now with Hotmail and customer support from Microsoft and I am looking for help or advice. I completely forgot my password to Hotmail (moving to South Korea form Canada...these things happen). I kept trying to access Hotmail with the result that I am now locked out. I have made five different requests to customer suppport over the last three days and I have had no response. My name is Wayne Popin and I am visiting this site to see if nayone has ever been able to "turn off" or disable the uninstal-a-shield in Windows XP Pro with SP 2. I have any older Canon Multipass printer that will not install due to the uninstall program included within XP. Any suggestions would be greatfully appreciated ;)

As my work is somewhat related to Intel AMT and manageability, issues found in these drivers interest me very much. I am in the small business network environment. Typical customers range from 3 computers to 20. I use several Windows OS installations for servers - frm WinXP to Server 2008. I have installed two dual server environments (I am working on the third right now), and I have done network design for about 6 new construction installations. I install unmanaged network environments. I am mostly self taught, and I love to tweak my own backup programs that will run with batch files during non-peak times. Someday soon, I will fade into retirement, and try to enjoy life without as much stress. Meanwhile, I am plugging away until that day of full social security benefits.

After you have posted ten times you will become what is called an Active Member. At this time you will be able to use the private messaging system. I began with machine code 50 year ago - that I understood but as things as made simple they become hard for old-timers. 1) Going from Windows 98 to Windows XP and I can't get going. How do I bring ZIP files from a previous computer, or download by internet, and then open and install (and run) them? I no longer seem to have direct access to the tools with which I need to work. How do I download IPlay files and install as I did in Win98 environment? 2) I have gotten some documents to transfer but they will not open, I understand they may not be Word files but .doc, .wri and other Window98 extentions are no longer recognized. Thanks.
