I bought a ferrari 458 italia about a year ago for playing on my Xbox 360 and laptop, it works fine on my laptop and Xbox but I recently bought a new computer and wanted to play euro truck simulator 2 (I played this on my laptop) but when I plugged my wheel in windows said that there were no drivers found for it. I thought that I would just go to the Thrustmaster website and download the drivers, it told me to download this: http://www.microsoft.com/hardware/en-us/d/xbox-360-controller-for-windows I downloaded this and installed this and it still wont work. I have looked on the internet to try and find other drivers and seeing as this device should be PnP I don't kno…

Hi I once had the Browser Manager virous on my computer. And I got rid of it by puting my computer in to safe mode and deleting the Browser Manager folder in C:/ProgramData and then the Browser Manager service was turned of because the folder with its files where removed. But another thing called adware Bprotect also came with Browser Manager and was put in to a folder called side kick manager. When I removed the Browser manager folder I did not remove the side kick manager folder because I did not know what it was at the time. You see though both the Browser Manager and the side kick manager services are stopped. But I was just wanting to know if even though the services…

Hi I'm Jackson, 25, been around PCs since I was a child, and I created this account to try and see if I could muster up any useful ideas and tips. I have familiarized myself lately with a lot of things, most notably bootable media. However, I am still learning(addictively) a lot of things. I am familiar with Tor, Tails, just started learning about bridges, ect. However, my goal is not to hide myself or protect my own identity, I want to track down someone that is potentially doing it to me. For starters, I will explain. This is very personal to me. My mother is married to a man(we'll say Mark), and his ex wife died in childbirth and gave birth to my step-sister,…

I have a D-Link DWL-G122 B1 wireless adapter with chipset RT2571 which corresponds to rt2500 driver in linux but since this specific driver is no longer available for my kernel version (3.11), i had to use a windows driver using ndiswrapper. I have connection with the internet but my wifi signal is weak and sometimes my internet falls down. What should i do to improve my adapter performance in order to keep a good and stable connection? Should i use another linux driver compatible with this adapter, perhaps rt73? Change some configurations? Change to a new and better adapter? Continue reading...

Hello, I have no idea if this is possible, or if this is just a neat idea, but is there any way to log on to a linux system using a self-signed certificate stored on a personal thumbdrive? I use Linux Mint, and as such have MDM but also use xscreensaver. My idea is, is there a way to be able to, when my thumbdrive is mounted (system automounts it), have the system check if my .pem is present in the root directory of the thumbdrive and if it is, unlock the desktop and if it isn't, just mount the drive as usual but not auto-authenticate? I can understand if I'd still need to log on using my password on bootup but, perhaps, is there any way to do this with xscreensaver,…

The first iTunes Festival is going to kick off in a week at SXSW in Austin and rumor has it Apple will be releasing an app for iPhone and iPad to allow users to stream the content live. According to Daring Fireball the app will require iOS 7.1, which has yet to even hit gold master status. There's two realistic scenarios here. The most obvious is that the app won't actually require iOS 7.1. The next is that it won't ship in time for SXSW. Both seem much more plausible than Apple releasing iOS 7.1 to the masses in less than a week's time with no gold master. I guess we'll know for sure in a week but until then, are you looking forward to potentially being able to str…

Since the announcement of Apple's CarPlay we've seen details emerge about how the system will work in the vehicles of both Volvo and Mercedes-Benz, and now Ferrari has shown off its system as well. While it works just like the systems in Volvo and Mercedes cars, it appears that the Ferrari system also utilizes a resistive touchscreen, which requires users to press firmly to register touches. CarPlay is integrated into the exisitng Ferrari dashboard setup, allowing users to choose between CarPlay and the Ferrari infotainment system, according to Engadget: Once it's connected, Ferrari will continue to utilize its own infotainment system, but users can load CarPlay by …

Mercedes-Benz has published a video demonstration of their CarPlay integration. While the company went into some detail with their announcement yesterday, the video takes its time showing various aspects of the system, including the interplay between voice commands and physical controls. The Mercedes system will also feature a set of physical controls, centered around a large dial. The dial is used to scroll through options, including app selection, contacts, and music. The voice commands button is located near the dial so you can activate Siri. The video details how many of CarPlay's features will work, including making call, getting directs, and sending and receiving…
