I have a W7 desktop and a W8.1 tablet. I set the tablet to join the homegroup and can see the desktop. I've copied some things over. Today, for the first time, I wanted to copy something from the tablet to the desktop. Hello, I have recently downloaded Windows 8 Defender. I Have had the app Origin for a long time, and without it working, I am unable to play SIMCITY. Now right after the day I installed Windows Defender, my Origin app says it is unable to "Go Online". I have to go online to play SIMCITY, so this s a problem. I am trying to remove conduit from Windows 8. I have looked for it on the Control Panel under Conduit, Conduit/toggle, Utorrent, Yontoo and Babylon and could not find any of those or any recently installed suspicious programs. I have systems with powerpath devices. i did a powermt remove dev=emcpoweraa Drive is not under powerpath control any more. Then i tried to do a pvremove on the backing devices. sday sdbc sdda sdde I get the following error on all of them. As you can see they are there in the directory. I'm a Linux n00b, and as for Windows, I am you're average joe. Not computer illiterate, but not exactly computer savvy. My problem is various distros won't connect to wifi. On some versions of Ubuntu (newest for example), and a few other distros, the connection wizard/setup thing, will find the name of my network, allow me to select it, and connect, but ask me for my password, and then fail. On Ubuntu and Fedora, it just won't connect, as if the password is wrong. On Slacko-Puppy I get some feed back on the problem. I have recently been having problems with my laptop and starting digging into the web history. Someone had visited a couple of **** webcam sites earlier that day and I didn't delete them. I keep the computer by my side that night and when I got up, I noticed that a **** webcam site had been accessed an hour earlier. My computer crashed a month later and I had the hard drive recovered. On the hard drive under a recovered file section, there were alot of **** webcam snapshots (ladies and men sitting in front of a computer). My spouse denies any knowledge of this. Several relatives of mine whom I occasionally provide technical assistance for are still running XP SP3 on their systems. Those systems are too outdated and underpowered to be upgraded to a newer version of Windows, and it will likely be some time before they are in a position to upgrade to newer hardware capable of running more modern versions of Windows.
