Hello all, I use the SMAP files to provide me with a better memory picture of where memory is being allocated (Shared / Private). The problem I have is that I have servers like this: Memory: 189.16GB + Swap: 79.99GB = 269.15GB Total Used: 176.59GB + Used: 0.42GB = 177.01GB Used Limit: 259.70GB - Committed: 240.66GB = 19.04GB Avail Free: 12.57GB + Buffers: 0.52GB + Cache: 55.31GB = 68.40GB Free I know what real memory processes have allocated but I would really like to produce a list which process have allocated space in the commit limit. iTunes Radio launched with iOS 7 as Apple's first music streaming service, but it's now set to go beyond that with its first news channel from NPR. According to Peter Kafka from re/code, the new channel should be going live today. NPR’s channel, which should be live today, will offer a free stream, 24 hours a day, which mixes live news with segments from pre-recorded shows like “All Things Considered” and “The Diane Rehm Show.” NPR officials say that within weeks, some of the broadcaster’s local stations should begin offering their own channels, with a similar mix of live and taped news. Beyond NPR, the report also goes on to say that this is just the beginning…

Touch ID makes it easy to register your fingerprints so you can unlock your iPhone 5s or make iTunes purchases without a passcode or password. Once you've registered a few, however, the default labels Touch ID assigns them are pretty much useless when it comes to figuring out which is which. That's especially true if you've registered a family member's fingerprint so they can share your iPhone. Luckily Apple does let you rename Touch ID fingerprint labels to make them much easier to keep track of and trouble shoot later! How to re-name a Touch ID fingerprint Launch the Settings app. Scroll down and tap on Touch ID & Passcode. Type in your passcode when asked.…

Short form: I want to use a 16GB USB flash drive memory stick as RAM, but seem to be unable to use more than 4GB, due to the system requirements, limiting what I can enter for values (size). WHY?? More detail: The computer is a desktop machine, having a 3.0GHz dual-core processor, and 4GB RAM installed. I believe the hard drive is a 1T. I have a 16GB USB flash drive memory stick, which I want to use to boost the RAM, for games, and such. There are 3 spare USB ports on the back of the tower. The flash drive is new, with NO files saved on it. When I go into the Settings; Computer; Virtual Memory, the computer is not allowing me to enter a value greater…

Someone helped me online to change my Start Screen in Windows 8 to the older version of the Start Menu (with "Start" at bottom of list and above it the various actions available). And the option was available on the list to alternate between it and the 8 Start Screen as needed. Hi everyone, auggy, I am really hoping you can help me with a problem I am having on a single workstation at my office. This is a Windows 7 32-bit build running MS Office 2010 Standard. It differs from other builds in our office because it is used by the head of our Accounts team, and so it has a number of bespoke pieces of software that only she needs access to (payroll software, etc.). All the computers core functionalities seem fine, save the following two, and I would really like some help getting to the bottom of it. 1) Explorer process BES error when attempting to browse files and folders. My problem is that my screen saver will not operate at all, no matter what settings I use. It does work when I use the 'preview' function though. I am using the inbuilt standard screensavers. No errors pop up, the screen saver just does not actuivate when the alloted time has passed. I am running Windows 7 x64. It's updated to the fullest extent via Windows Update. My mobo is a Gigabyte X79-UD3 running F16 Bios, the latest version. I recently replaced my graphics with a new GTX 780Ti and I am using the latest drivers but the problems existed before the upgrade. My screen saver is set to blank screen after 1 minute (just for testing, it's normally set to 10 minute…

Hi there, I am having a new issue with my laptop. It is a Dell XPS L502x. I am running Windows 7 X64. A new issue has arisen. The computer randomly freezes. There is no software I can identify that causes this. None that I can see straight away anyway. I am forced to shut it down by holding the power button and then boot up again. It works but I dont know when it will randomly freeze and become completely unresponsive. If left frozen, eventually it completely turns off. No blue screen or anything. Any ideas what could be wrong or how to fix it? There have been no new software installations. The latest installation was 2 days before this problem cam…

I am trying to uninstall Search Protect using the Control Panel/uninstall, but it's not working. When you click the uninstall, it triggers a pop up window that by removing it you will get even more stuff. I tried CCleaner, but it does nothing as well. I know a few of these comments prior to mine ask to download other softwares.... I really don't want to get anything free to download. I am willing to go to any box store and get something there, but now download from the net.
