Hi, I have 2 problems with Windows Speech Recognition that I need help with: 1. Whenever I start Windows Speech Recognition it immediately inserts the words ‘The on’ or ‘The on up’. This becomes quite annoying if you use the software frequently because you have to delete that phrase before you can continue dictating. I can’t delete these words from the Windows speech dictionary because it only allows you to prevent individual words appearing and not entire phrases. 2. Another problem I have is that Windows Speech Recognition randomly inserts a word (the same word) into sentences repeatedly when I don't want that word and didn't say it. I can’t edit thi…

I've tried to do backup and all settings of it are available, but then windows sais "The request is not supported (0x80070032)". I followed instructions on this page, and here's the problem. Task Scheduler is disabled and cannot be enabled, while everything is alright with all the other services. I've done the same backup before with the same external disk in the same way and everything was absolutely fine. The problem started right after an update, so the technicians may find the source of the problem in update files. Continue reading...

If I can figure out how to clear up the Administrative Events logs could that improve the Dial Up service which is very slow I'd appreciate any suggestions you have. thanks There's an instruction in a Microsoft discussion regarding Event Viewer that there should be a "Clear Log" option in the Action menu but it's not there when I open Event Viewer on my computer. (or by opening a command prompt. According to the Micrsoft Event Viewer 18 page discussion it should be possible to set the Maximum size (in KB), o the Logs file, by clicking on properties, but I can't g…

Ive tried controlpanel search, add ons, toolbars, homepage, I just cant find it anywhere. Ask doesnt show as my home search engine but any searches throw up "Ask" results. Who on earth is "Ask"? Tried malwarebytes, superantispyware, spywareblaser and cant find Trojans or virus. Ask is giving me the proverbial. There are third party removal tools like w**.threatsupport.com/fix_other/ask_removal2.php?data=Ask%20Search I dont know whether they are just as insidious. Why doesn't Microsoft put a removal tool at my disposal. If Im so annoyed Id almost go to apple.... Honestly, I just want an answer from the horses mouth, Microsoft, not some dot me Montene…

I see this on my PC now in the Taskbar icons. But I can't find any reference to it anywhere on my system. I did a search for cltmngui and nothing comes up. I've search Program Files and Program Files (x86) and there's no reference at all to Search Protect or CLTMNGUI.exe. I'm running a full scan with System Center Endpoint Protection but so far it has found nothing. Any help is appreciated. System Specs... I am using Windows 7 and IE-11. I just migrated from a hard disk going bad to a new had disk for my C: drive (don't know if this is part of the issue or not). All of a sudden I can no longer download any files. I have no other problems that I am aware of. When I try to download anything I get to the ribbon at the bottom of the screen that asks if I want to "Open" or "Save" and no matter which button I click nothing happens. I get no error messages. I have deactivated Norton 360 both anti-virus and firewall but no fix. Norton support was no help, they wanted to remote into my computer but we could not download the required file. I have reset IE-11 to default settin…

Someone I know keeps telling me to use iobits on my laptop HP G60-635Dxin7 64 bit. I have always come to MS community for the advice of folks here and follow your directions always!. one tech here told me to always use MS tool, programs ect, and I have taken that advice. he said that he didn't like those tools because they may harm the registry. makes sense to me. he also recommends Ccleaner, which I haven't used. I stay with my windows disk cleaner and use my Kaspersky anti-virus program. my question is.... Are the window disk cleaner and my Kaspersky really all I need to do the job of what this friend recommends I use? Ccleaner and iobits. I need to know if an…

Hello, I am new to this whole Linux OS. I have tried a few diffident versions and end up liking Opensuse. Well I have not had to much trouble using it in general but i feel like it has a real bad learning curve from windows. Most of my time I end up spending on Google just to learn how to install programs and hardware. What i am looking for is a book or web site that will help me drive right in to learn the real power behind this OS. i have a few ebooks like "Linux for dummys" but that is not a real good learning tool. Thank you for your time Continue reading...

It appears that improvements to Notification Center, Messages, and more might be coming in iOS 8. Among these improvements is the removal of the Missed section of Notification Center, with missed notifications being combined with what is currently called the All tab. For Messages, users may be given the option to set message threads to auto-delete after a certain time period, freeing up storage space. It also appears that Apple is working on better inter-app communication, allowing them to share data without the need for a workaround, according to Mark Gurman at 9to5Mac: Apple is said to be working on and testing functionality that would allow apps from the App Stor…

In 1999, Sega released a fast-paced driving game called Crazy Taxi in arcades and on their Sega Dreamcast console. Two sequels followed, not to mention a popular iOS port of the original game. Sensing that Crazy Taxi has even more life on mobile, SEGA has just announced a new mobile-exclusive sequel called Crazy Taxi: City Rush for iPhone, iPad, and Android. Getting very jagged here... a) Microsoft has scheduled the execution of XP before, only to give a stay of execution for one reason or another (Vista blew chunks). This one’s getting close...any chance of MS pulling it back again, or is the toxic drip definitely beginning at 4.8.2014 12:01am? b) as the execution nears, will performance degrade, as they pull out the isolinear chips out one by one (Daisy, daisy...), or should everything work normally up to the 8th of April? The reason I ask is that since yesterday, almost every single webpage never completes loading. Sometimes it completes loading, but hangs (blue/green bar in URL…
