The "Your Verse" section of Apple's web site - part of its ad campaign for the iPad Air - has been updated with a new section about how the iPad is being used to detect concussion injuries in athletes and help their trainers assess when they're ready to play again. Apple: There is no typical recovery from concussion. And it’s not always clear when a full recovery has occurred. So as injured athletes progress, trainers like Cruickshank are with them every step of the way, monitoring their performance with C3 Logix on iPad. Typically, he tests them every five to six days. Because all the data collected on iPad is stored by the app, Cruickshank can share a complete pic…

A week ago we ran a reader poll asking about your iOS 7.1 battery life, and we've had some interesting results. A full week after the update came out, we'd all had a decent amount of time to discharge and recharge our iPhone and iPad batteries and get a better feel for whether or not anything had changed. Battery life differs from person to person, and in our sampling it looks as if the bad press on the issue may have had some standing. About 22.5% of those surveyed said their battery life was in some way better than before the update. Not so bad, but then compare it to 34% who saw no change and a combined 43% who said that they're seeing a negative outcome. Of that a …

On March 24, 2001, Apple released Mac OS X v10.0. Codenamed "Cheetah," the new Mac operating system represented a radical departure from what came before it. OS X would help to mold Apple into what it's become today and it would also lay the groundwork for the enormous success Apple saw with mobile devices. In the late 1990s Apple had a problem. Its operating system was showing its age. The software had gone through nine major revisions over the years and had been steadily improved and refined over the years. But there were problems. After more than a decade of development, the seams in Mac OS were showing - the software didn't support things like protected memory, …

Hey There I Have a Problem with my Monsters Inc Scare Island PC Game, I Have Installed it Once On My HP Compaq Computer Which is Windows Xp. I Played the Game for About 4 Months. My Fault Was That I Accidently Uninstalled ATI Display Driver And When I Tried Playing it Again It Gave Me The Direct X 8 Error. I Couldn't Reinstall the ATI Display Driver for Windows XP and I Don't Know How to Reinstall It. I Tried System Restore and It Say's That the System Restore Was Incomplete. I Tried It On Windows 7 to get VMWare Back with Old Game On It and It Won't Take me Back to Earlier Times (like 2013 or 2012) On Windows. I Can No Longer Play Monsters Inc Scare Island On Window…

To all USERS: I wonder why Microsoft won’t support Windows XP after April 15th, 2014, when Windows 8 is not even half of it... If they wont support Windows XP, it means it is FREE REIGN to copy it and SELL it as they give up the copyrights to it and it is all free reign to disassemble it and alter it to anyone's means. THAT is a disgrace to Microsoft and their poor creation of Windows 8 being made for a child to use and not any professional user. There is a lot of things missing in Windows 8 that is in Windows XP only the real professionals needs, and one of them is the customizations of themes to the desktop instead of colored boxes that have no special…

I downloaded digital pictures from a camera and created a file for them to go into. When I could not find the file I remembered part of the file name and did a search. The search came up with the pictures but I cannot see where the file is located--in C drive, my documents, or where. How can I figure this out? I wish that I could resave or direct the pictures to a new spot but cannot figure that out either. Continue reading...

Hi Jessen P, Thank you for replying to my query about the browsing history that drops down from the "Search box" in IE11 when you click (even accidentally!!) on the BORDER of the box. In answer to your question about Google, I am assuming that because Search is provided by Google whose name appears next to my search box, it might be in Google's interests to discreetly compile a browsing history which is non-deletable for marketing purposes. I might be wrong!! In response to your suggestion about clicking the small red x against each website in the list in order to delete it, unfortunately no small x appears at all. Can you provide me with any other suggestions …

After restarting my laptop which is running Windows 8, I've encountered a problem that I have not recently had with logging into my user account, or any other account for that matter. After the restart, I attempted to enter my usual pin that I've used hundreds of times and a message come up saying "The password is incorrect. Try again." It will only let me attempt to use my password and not my pin. When attempting to use my password, it will type nothing when I try to use a capital letter and every other letter and/or number displays multiple (at least 5) of that item. • My password has always been exactly eight characters long, so the 15 character limit is not caus…

Hi, We are using a Windows 8.1 system running a Windows Desktop application in a kiosk application. The machine is a standard desktop PC with a seperate touchscreen, and customers have figured out that they can swipe the left and right edges of the screen to bring up the Charms bar etc. We have disabled the 'hot corners', but it still remains possible to swipe in from the edge of the screen to bring up these bars. Many hours of searching have not yielded a solution - most users with this problem seem to be having the same issue when they swipe the edge of their trackpad, and there are numerous reports that the "feature" can be disabled in the mouse/trackpad sett…

Original Title:Folders won't open Okay, so I click on the folder icon on my bottom bar, and it goes to a blank screen and then back to my desk top. The folders didn't open at all. No message or anything. I have to right click on the icon and then hit the documents folder. Then if I right click on any documents, pictures, etc., the same thing happens...the screen goes blank for a moment and takes me right back to my desk top. This not only happens with my documents info, but it also happens if I try to open Norton, the recycle bin, and other icons. And I cannot connect to my printer any longer. It was all working fine yesterday, so I don't know what to do. Anything I …

I have a Dell laptop, company issued, recently freshly installed with Windows 7. At my desk I have two Dell monitors arranged in Extended Desktop. At what seems like random times, maximized windows don't extend all the way to the right edge of one or the other screen. Sometimes it seems to happen when returning from Lock Screen. Sometimes it seems to happen after I've accessed something in my System Tray. I can see the background showing through the gap at the right, about 20% of the total screen real estate (screenshot below, note the Chrome window is maximized). If I use non-maximized windows, I can drag them into this space. But anything maximized stops short. …
