Hello, I might have a virus because I have this process running at all times and when it stops working it does a BSOD. Here's what i'm saying: I boot up my computer. I play a couple of games for a few hours. Sometimes "BlackIRC" crashes and then I get a BSOD I reboot my computer and everything is fine for a few hours but then I get a BSOD. The file i'm talking about is in AppData\Local\Temp It's name is 1812145923.exe, tried antiviruses. nothing worked! they simply don't detect it. Also if I attempt to end the process it says this: "Ending this process will shut down the system immediately" or something like that. What do I do? Continu…

Tragedy huh? I hate this malware so much. I even downloaded all the programs that can track this pest. Also, I tracked many malwares but I cannot delete them because I needed to purchase programs which I can't because I am just a teen and I do not have paypal and credit cards. I followed all the steps to change the search engine and stuff but it's still the same. I even blocked the site but that doesn't help. I tried to look inside my files but it is nowhere to find. The "Programs and Features"? It doesn't help. And btw, torntv is killing my laptop. I know I explore so much in the internet but yeah I'm sorry. Continue reading...

I have 1 early gen x64 junk laptop, 2 midgrade x64 towers and 1 (what was 3.5 years ago) a highend x64 laptop. It still needs a lot of hardware TLC. I had to take the oldest laptop apart to clean it and regrease it. The tower upgrades and the networking stuff set me back about $400 US. It should come out nice once I feel like getting up and doing that much work. I'm trying to figure out what to do with it after it's built. If I can get everything to work I'll end up with 18 cores and 20GB RAM running through a highspeed switch with all system resources shared across the distributed units and a 2TB shared storage pool. I'm planning on using rocks cluster xen…

I am running Kubuntu 13.10. I have the latest Thunderbird and Enigmail installed. I'm trying to create a keypair and revocation cert. My issue is that my passphrases are 160+ character long randomly-generated strings. Typing this in manually is out of the question. It's too long and too easy to make a mistake, at which point I will have to completely start over and try again. The sensible thing to do would be to copy-paste the passphrase (stored in a secured file vault). But I can't because Pinentry grabs the keyboard away from all applications and disables all copy & paste operations. Supposedly this can be disabled by putting the string "no-grab" in the gpg-agen…

Tim Cook publicly welcomed Microsoft Office for iPad via Twitter today, and Apple will be taking a 30% cut of all in-app purchase revenue from the new apps. This is standard practice for the App Store and means that Microsoft will indeed be surrendering a cut of all Office 365 subscriptions it sells that way. So, there's every reason for Apple to be doubly excited. Re/code: Indeed, Microsoft does offer Office 365 subscriptions within the just-released Word for iPad and the other Office apps and, yes, it is paying the 30 percent cut, Apple confirmed to Re/code. Microsoft declined to comment on the matter. Apple has taken a hard line with all manner of publishers t…

Macworld|iWorld opened its doors today and, as promised, Peter and I were there to help kick it off. For my part I was thrilled to join Jason Snell of IDG, Christina Bonnington of Wired, Ben Bajarin of Techpinions, and Dan Moren of Macworld for the keynote panel, The State of Apple Technology. We talked about Apple being perpetually labeled as doomed, speculated about iWatches and Apple Televisions, and contemplated the future of the Mac, the iPhone, and the iPad. The highlight clip is up top but the full video should be available next week. Meanwhile... Yay, it starts! @jsnell @dmoren @reneritchie pic.twitter.com/CpVh56lIru — Sam Montooth (@Sambassman) March 27,…

Along with today's big Microsoft Office for iPad announcement comes news of a special promotion offering a year's free Office 365 access to iPad owners. There are a couple of caveats, however, which include limited availability and the small detail that you need to go to a Microsoft retail store to claim it. ZDNet: To promote the big launch, Microsoft is offering a one-year Office 365 subscription to the first 50 customers who bring an iPad into a Microsoft store. There aren't many Microsoft stores, so if your lucky enough to have one nearby and see iPad toting folks in your local store you know why. So, if you live near a Microsoft store, grab your iPad and ge…

Would you get a HTC One style Dot View case for your iPhone? One of the more awesome new features that came with the launch of the new HTC One (M8) has given us a quick run through of it in the video up top. It looks awesome, and has HTC created a case that you'd love to have for your iPhone? It isn't all out gimmick, either. The case actually has a capacitive layer so you can uses gesture controls to answer and reject calls, activate voice dialing, and even double-tap to turn on the Dot View display. But it looks cool as hell – or so we think! The HTC One (M8) is the closest in terms of construction to our own iPhone 5s and in some regards it's a shame to cover …

Hello: I recently backed up my Windows fonts file to a CD. The files copied to the CD perfectly. However, now when I insert a new CD into the drive, I get the little file pic with an arrow and the message stating: "You have files waiting to be written to the CD" The files were already written to the CD! When I select "Delete temporary files" at the left, I get an error message which says "Cannot delete arialbd.ttf. Access is denied. Make sure the disk is not full or write protected and that the file is not currently in use." I also can not drag the file to the recycle bin, as I get the same message. What is going on here? Okay, seeing how I can't find any generic PR email address then I guess I'll post this here. Microsoft, after the lovely NSA stuff you pulled. Do you think anyone with a brain is going to trust you anymore? Thanks for helping the NSA get a backdoor in Windows, Skype, and Outlook/Hotmail, and Skydrive or whatever other services you sneaky guys like to help government agencies spy on. We really appreciate direct access to Skype video, voice and chat text and all of that. And now you want us to pay you to upgrade from Windows XP, eh? I don't think so. The last store copy of Windows I bought was XP other than what has come with various computers. You've completely l…

Hello! Today I bought a brand new Dell Inspiron laptop, set it up all fine and everything is working well except for the internet. It picks up my wifi network, but when I try to connect to it it takes forever, and then says 'limited connection' (why does Windows call it 'limited' when it is COMPLETELY non existent!). I must have read about twenty different online forums with people having the same problem, and I have tried each and every solution i have come across. I've input command prompts, i've rebooted the router countless times, i've rebooted my laptop, i've changed the device settings- I honestly feel like I have done everything. I am HUGELY frustrated - you d…

Hello, About a week ago I opted to do a factory reset on my Dell laptop thinking it would solve a network issue I was having. It didn't, but that issue was fixed soon after the reset. Other than having to re-install what few programs I lost, everything was the same as before; personalized themes, accounts, etc. Two days later, I went to start up my laptop and the lock screen was a default and the only account available for login was a local account; no administrator account as an option. I can't get any my admin username and password to work on anything except to access the My Dell app. My admin account is also my Microsoft account, which works just find when signing…

I have albums with tags properly set and under any other music app, all of the songs of a certain album, appear under one entry but in Windows 8 built-in app, each songs has one entry. This doesn't happen with every album and I always use the same app to set tags (MP3Tag) so it's not that app that's causing the problem. Of course, the filter is set to Album, not Song (if I set to songs then all songs should have their own entry which is not the case here) Here are some screenshots: This is one of the albums with problems. The tag for the album field is "Guitar Freaks V3 & Drummania V3" Every song of this album has the same tag and like I said, in ot…
