I used 'Windows Easy Transfer' tool to move my Apps, Settings, and Files to my new Computer. But the tool did not work all that well. 'Transfer' did move the stuff, but Win 8 on new computer does not see my Apps from the Old Computer. For example I can use Open Office 4.01, but if I go to 'Control Panel' to see what is installed in the 'Programs' Section there is no Open Office 4.01 installed. The program seems to exist in an environment and windows does not see it. Is there a way to make Windows 8 see all of my applications that I have transferred? So I can manage them. Also in future It would be better if 'Windows Easy Transfer' moved all of the apps from old …

I installed windows 8 from external hard disk , installation went well, everything works fine, but when I remove external hdd windows does not boot, Windows installation is located on disk C:, but without external hard drive (F:) windows will not boot and shows some errors about missing /boot/bcd i think there is something with boot files, not sure how can i fix it. windows SETUP files are on F: and installation is on C: i can only boot windows if booting from external hard drive F: (MAXTOR) Hard drive if i try to boot from (my main hard drive "Samsung") where i installed windows from external HDD, it does not boot. Hello, My Windows 8 asus laptop is stuck on the automatic repair on startup. It would go to the blue screen with advanced settings with the options to refresh, restart.etc I would restart my PC but I am afraid that my Microsoft office will be deleted from the laptop. It came with the bundle and wasn't pre-installed. I also don't want to spend money on something that came with the actual bundle. Can someone please tell me how I can either get past the automatic repair or restart without losing Microsoft Office and other program's that came with it. Hello, A few weeks ago my desktop's time started acting weird and going out of sync. I tried resyncing it to different servers, and at the time they would work. But only for an hour or so and then it would go back to the wrong time. The same thing happened when I manually reset it. Now fast forward to now, I've been scouring different forums looking for a way to fix it, but to no avail. Hie I have done to (my music) folder on my computer and there I wanted to play a song. It gave me a command to choose a program to play with and I selected the Windows Media Player (WMP). I feel like i have tried everything. I uninstalled McAfee which was preinstalled on my computer when i bought it (which was today). I even downloaded the McAfee removal tool and ran as administrator. I have tried running WIndows Defender from the Action Center, from services.msc and nothing seems to work. I keep getting Error 577 and it will not run. I have no other anti-virus software running on my computer currently. I have tried every suggestion i have found on the internet. What is the deal. We are constantly writing images from a camera at 4MBytes/s to an SD card (SLC, ext4). After we start writing, the CPU usage jumps by 15-20 percent and stays there. These writes are spread across up to 13 open file handles. I am using a Texas Instruments distro of kernel 3.2.0 on an embedded ARM platform.
