Original Title: didn't receive final XP updates and can't manually download them I received Automatic Updates today, but they don't seem to be the four final updates mentioned in the Microsoft Security Bulletin Summary for April 2014 and many news articles. Bogus homeland Security malware completely locked me out of all control of my windows 8 computer. I've tried every solution on the net (windows idea of support was to run their security programs --- I CAN'T CONTROL THE COMPUTER - can't run anything). I haven't had success with any of the options I could find. It seems I am running into a unique problem with restoring the computer to a previous point. Hello, Okay, this is the 4th time I've tried to install SP 1 for Windows 7. I found that it would fail every time trying to dowload via Windows Update. When I downloaded the Standalone version and installed it I found that my Logitech M305 wireless mouse stopped working. Additionally, the internal DVD Drive (HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GT20F) stopped working as well. I have a Toshiba Satellite A505 S6005. I have tried uninstalling the devices in Device Manager and restarting. HI, I have a WAN connection which connect different departments from all over my country via tunneling. In my main location I have shared internet via Untangle and our warehouse software which provides information to our branches via shared drives. When this came on line all our departments could see each other and share the same internet connection via the WAN. Recently I have noticed that the new computer that houses windows 7 are not able to pull an internet connection and the shared drives on them keep dropping. I completed the slide show in Windows 7, and added the music but it raptures from slide to slide, it stops then it resumes after a brief moment, and so on, and so on, on each slide. I have Windows 7 Home Premium and I am trying to up-grade the firmware on my Galaxy Note i717 and when I plug it in I get the message that this device can perform faster if I plug it in to a high speed usb port. Have tried several different ways to change from the full speed default port where the Samsung usb device plugs in to a high speed port and no luck what so ever. I'm not sure how I picked up this garbage, but I can't get rid of it. Upon opening the first instance of IE 11, I'm directed to a "search page". I have another URL listed in Tools\Internet Options, but it's bypassed in this first browser instance. Any subsequent instance (new tabs) opens to the correct URL. I've scoured the web looking for answers. Every "fix" I can find comes down to things I've already tried - Manage Add-Ons, setting homepage in Internet Options, unregistering .DLLs with regsrv32, removing registry keys with regedit, et. al.
