Hi, I deleted this driver with out knowing what it was. Now I keep getting this ERROR message "Can't Open ACPI ATK0100 kernel Mode Driver" I click "OK" and it says "You have to install ATK0100 driver" The laptop is a ASUS PRO31F, so based on advise I've read online I visited the link below and downloaded the zip file "ATK_Media_XP_060731.ZIP" http://support.asus.com/Download.aspx?SLanguage=en&m=Pro31F&p=3&s=87 I am not sure If I am running the contents of the zip file correctly because it doesn't seem to fix the issue. I have an old Dell computer that USED to have Windows XP Professional installed on it. I have Ubuntu (Linux) installed on it now and Windows XP is gone. The computer came with Windows XP Professional installed when I got it. However, I still have the installation disc. My question is, would it be possible and/or legal to use the installation disk to install Windows XP Professional in a virtual machine on the same computer if I still have the product key? I now work exclusively in this "Temporary account" mode in Windows 8, because it appears to be incapable of doing anything else. Following a nights work last week, I logged out and re-logged in to discover that Windows 8 had previously logged me in as "Temporary" and deleted my nights work upon logging out. After attempts to upgrade to 8.1, my (Sony Vaio) computer froze and had to be re-imaged back to the version of Windows 8 that was originally on the machine. I bought a Dell Laptop 3 weeks ago with Windows 8 and when I tried to upgrade to Windows 8.1 from the Store tile, a message came that reads as follows: "You need to use an account with Administrative privileges to install Windows 8.1, try logging in with the user account of an administrator of this PC and trying the update again". Dear Support, I have HP Envy dv6 which came preinstalled with Windows 8 "Core Edition" OEM. My recovery partition stopped working, HP Recovery manager is old and not working for me, and I didn't get any Recovery DVDs with my laptop. This has been an issue since Windows XP if not earlier. Whenever I tell Windows to sort my desktop icons "by name," it completely ignores actual alphabetical order and just puts them wherever it feels like. Back in Windows XP, it even put My Documents above My Computer in the upper left corner of the screen (when using the Classic start menu). Full-size image (1366x768) That's Windows 7, taken today after telling it to sort by name. As you can very clearly see, that is NOT sorted by name. Anyone have any ideas why Windows does this? Hi When I set my Power savings to switch off the display after 15 minutes I can not re-activate it anymore. I need to switch off the desktop (Dell Dimension 5150) and restart the system. I see when I switch off the desktop that shortly before the system goes down the display start showing shutting down the system. I checked my USB mouse and keyboard setting in the device manager and they say the devices can wake up the system. What else can I check as I can only put on the screensaver and not switch off the display (it worked all on XP before I updated to Windows 7 - no HW change) Thank you Markus Continue reading...

I tried to download a photo from Public Domaine Pictures and foolishly installed what was required, an image downloader of some kind, and ended up with malware called Start.MySearchDial which I can't seem to get rid of, along with other installations that came with it. Although clicking on "uninstall" after selecting Start.MySearchDial on the program list, it did go off the list, it still comes up as my home page instead of Google Chrome (was my default), FireFox, or Internet Explorer, all of which I have on my computer. Just today, I am getting a popup box with "igeto.exe has stopped working" and the choices to check online for a solution or close the program. No solution online, of course. Seems to be a Microsoft program. Key is Oqertym - Users\Me\AppData\Roaming\Feyfqaa\igeto.exe. Also shows up in audio keys. I can find no reference to it anywhere online. What is it? I have a p3.php file which if I execute from root user it creates a text file but if I execute from another user it doesn't create any text file. eg: I placed the p3.php in /var/www/html/p3.php and if I execute from "example.com/p3.php" it creates file without any issue. but if I place in /john/public_html/tmp/p3.php and execute from "example.com/~john/tmp/p3.php" it doesn't create any file.
