This question is about losing the rights to about half of my music files today. When I try to play a file using Windows Media Player, a small window pops up. The blue bar at the top of the window says "Media usage rights Acquisition". The body of the window appears to be a website with Napster & Rhapsody names, a few pages, but having no real content. It worked last month ... but now when I connect my Iphone 5 to my computer iTunes opens, but there is not prompt to do anything about the photos. Under "computer" the iphone does not show up... it shows an icon for "icloud photos" I just want to save the photos from my phone into a folder in My Pictures ... like I always have!! When I open a small window or say a pop up over the internet or a full size window, my mouse can't select anything, the small window will disappear behind the larger window. I've owned an HP pavillion laptop for coming up on 4 and a half years now running windows vista. Just recently, due to a virus, I purchased a new hard drive and the installers uploaded windows 7. I have had a hard time playing videos on any platform. I've also been getting a "display driver has stopped responding and recovered" message. Not sure if these issues are linked, but they both have begun to happen after the new hard drive has been put into my laptop. Any suggestions? Hi, I tried to download a free AI reviewer, big mistake, with it came something called, secure.conduit.com. I uninstalled both the AI reviewer and secure, etc., but it won't go away! Their search engine keeps coming up. I try inputting my own into the browser, which works temporarily, then all kinds of advertisements come up and a msg. from Windows Defender warning me against the site that appears. I picked up Trojan:Win32/Orsam!rts and found it almost immediately with Microsoft Security Essentials. Now it is in MSE's history, and it IS quarantined... But although it is quarantined, the program can't remove it OR restore it. (BTW, I might want to restore it because I know Malwarebytes as well as HitmanPro can remove it-- but with it in MSE's quarantine, Malwarebytes nor HitmanPro don't find it???) So anyways I think my computer is a goner already and that there is no way to fix this, but if anyone can I help I would appreciate it. The problem that me computer has is that when I try to start it normally a black screen will appear. There is also a Windows Explorer has stopped working message and a 000000 error message which prevents me from doing anything with anti virus software. Windows 7 Ultimate x64 with all patches I right click on an executable and select Scan with Microsoft Security Essentials. There is a brief flash of a window (too fast to see what it says) and then: Scan completed on 0 items. No threats were detected on your PC during this scan. The same thing happens if I select more than one executable. It also reports that it scanned 0 items. Is this a bug in the information shown or is it really not scanning anything? Okay now I have an issue with windows, namely secureboot and UEFI. This is not for my computer but for my fathers machine. As an early birthday present I got my father a HP Pavilion laptop that came preinstalled with windows 8.1 but he didnt like it and wanted a dual boot. So I gave him Ubuntu 13.10 as it has UEFI support and everything was fine until we updated to Ubuntu 14.04. Sadly it did not load windows via grub and windows would fail to boot. However after repairing the windows boot manager I knew I had to reinstall linux which would normally be fine but now windows and windows alone now boots, no grub, no nothing. Hi there, I'm fairly new to linux so please bear with me! I'm currently trying to set up an ad-hoc network to print from an ipad to a canon pixma mg7150 via my little eeepc running xfce. I've modified the CUPS configuration file and printing works fine when everything is connected to my home network, whether the printer is connected via usb to the eeepc or directly to the network via wireless, everything works fine. However on initialising the ad-hoc network, the printer fails to find the network, and if I connect it to the eeepc via usb and search for airprint printers on the ipad it does not show up.
