I can't seem to open this PowerPoint that was sent to me by email. It keeps saying that it's opening in protective view but it never actually opens. I tried going to the properties and changing some things but I don't know what to do now because it still won't open. Do you think it's because we might have different software? Please help. Thanks Continue reading...

Starting a couple of days ago, my work machine began to show me blank pages on the Bing homepage. I've got Win 8 still, but IE11. The results are identical between desktop version and metro version. I uninstalled IE via the control panel, restarted, then reinstalled, and restarted. It didn't help. I erased every possible bit of IE information using IE's settings (on the metro side) and that didn't help either. Chrome, which I hate, shows the screen just fine. Anyone else seen this? Unfortunately, my update and rollback options are limited given that the biz has some control over that through group policies, but IE11 tells me that it's the latest version. …

Just installed, ( 15 APR 14 - clean formatted partition), Win 7 Home Premium 64bit on a system previously running XP. Under XP, I always created a system restore point (SRP) prior to any new s/w installs or version upgrades. After install of Win7, I found a system generated SRP as expected. Before I allowed Windows to update my system with required updates, I created a SRP. I created new SRP's prior to loading Adobe products (Reader and FlashPlayer), so I could access e-mailed/files, etc. ... each required reboots. Before install of my Office suite I checked the SRP's and those I created are missing. Only the system generated SRP is there. I checked the box to 'S…

I have been trying to figure out why my laptop freezes and shuts down when using the internet. There is no time frame…for example, I could merely open up my homepage and it freezes instantly, or I could be visiting several sites and it shuts down maybe five, ten, or fifteen minutes into using it. It is random. I have also tried using a different browser. I normally use the Internet Explorer and I usually don’t use Mozilla’s Firefox. I tried it with Firefox and it immediately shut down right when I opened up the homepage. I also noticed something else, when I shut it down and restart it, it seems to have a restore performed. Last night I made editing changes to a document.…

I have a small issue with a program( Adobe Creative Cloud), after I downloaded everything were perfect, but now, after I installed a few products it says that I need administrator privileges in order to continue to download the other products . I tried to manage the problem by changing the user's type(from standard to admin), but I found another one. And the problem is that: when I change the user's type(after I click to change in to administrator and then okay)it still shows me that I'm on a standard user. Hope for someone to give an answer for those two issues. Continue reading...

I have an old Nvidia card that I am upgrading on my Dell Dimension 8100. It works but I am trying to get dual monitor capability. I am dual booting Mint Maya 13 and Windows XP SP3. Only using XP when I need to scan something, so Mint boots up first. I have ordered a PNY GeForce gt 630 2gig graphics card (VCGGT6302XPB), and a refurbished 330 watt PSU from Dell to handle that card. Dell said 330 watts is maximum for my machine. I am not a gamer so don't need a fancy card, or a lot of power. I wanted to check with you guys if this card will work and if so is there anything special I have to do when installing it. I am unsure about having to uninstall the old drivers first. …

Hello everybody! I was thinking about a way to fix the drivers on my notebook. I don't wish to use bumblebee. The idea that I have is to make two shortcuts in the boot menu. The first one should load the intel graphics and the nvidia card must be off. The second shortcut should load the nvida cart with ITS drivers while the intel card must be off. Most likely it should be done on opensuse. Now I don't know how to make it, but I do know that it is possible. Thanks for the help, gosh6o Continue reading...
