I am trying to do the update MS14-021 for a customer who still uses SMS2003 with ITMU (yes indeed!). They have IE8 with german localization, but the update is not installing. It is shown in update catalog, but for English only. Does anyone know if there should exist or be coming a german update or do we have to use the direct download from Windows Update website and run the update separate from ITMU? I understand HP is reverting to win 7 to respond to their customers - I unfortunately bought a Toshiba and it has been sitting for over 5 months as I HATE WIN 8. How do I get MS to give us Win 7 - have used every win since start and dos before that. If win8 is their look at the future, I'll head to Apple next time. what is difference between 8.1 and 8.1 RT, I understand ( if I can find it) the upgrade to 8.1 gives a pseudo win 7 look. Thanks! I purchased a Cocoon DVR recently and it is working correctly, however I cannot connect it to my network. I'm running windows 8 and when connected with a cat6 cable to the lan port the connection displays as an unidentified connection with limited access. I can not open properties on this connection to adjust. I have a wireless modem for connection to the internet. I have the filter on for my 10-year-old daughter and I receive the reports just fine. However, every report shows Twitter and Facebook as her top two visited sites. But she doesn't have an account and I have watched her using the machine and she does not even hit those sites when she is searching for other topics. My computer has a called file Isearch, it is copying my files, pictures, and programs. It even has made copies of files that where never in the hard drive to begin with from the original owners information. The worst part is, that there is thousands of copies. I have a 2 terabyte hard drive paired with another 1.6 hard drive. It has not use all the memory yet but no scan finds anything wrong. It scanned 2,750,000 files and took 7 hours to scan. Have Win7, use current MSE, I had loaded Ad-Aware antivirus software but it doesn't activate because I have MSE. Consistent web advice says to load an antivirus SW because MSE isn't as advanced to catch everything. #1: do you know if Searchsafer is part of Ad-Aware? #2. I always load SW in custom mode so as not to get the annoying ad-ons, but perhaps I didn't catch this one? #3: Does MSE have to be deleted or turned off to allow the AV SW to activate? #4: I hate getting the "do you want to install Search Safer" every time I reboot the PC. for the last 36 hours+, i've been getting text from microsoft offering me apps every 1/2 hour at least saying install or share.. I can't find any where on it unsubscribe, so have clicked on more and clicked on malware.. I contacted O2 and they say they can't help. Hi all These days I downloaded the Mame emulator just to remember the good times of the arcades. After the installation, I've got some ROMs and then started playing. It was really nice to play those old great games again, except for the latency!!! WTF! I was playing very old games on a much faster processor, and I was experiencing latency.. a latency that I did not experienced with those 20-years-old arcades! I'm going to put a linux OS on my netbook as a tripple boot. Xp, windows 7, then linux. I think if i install xp and 7 first, the linux will still have them as boot options. I just unsure what linux to choose.
