Many of our new internal software applications run on CentOS 5.x/6.x servers (so we have a good experience with that linux OS). Those CentOS servers have not yet joined our Windows 2003 domain. Okay, so I keep getting blue screen almost every time my computer is on. The error that comes up is the Kernel_data_inpage_error. I've tried running the disk check and downloaded Seagate but everything passed. I'm not really sure what else I should do. i have been using pdftotext.exe to extract text from pdf. The text accuracy was good by using this. But the problem was i can't able to identify bold and italics text. I have been told by people selling their "Student" version on eBay that it is the FULL version -- but what is the truth, the real difference between that and the other "Full" DSP version -- which of course if 5X the "student" price? Essentially I installed a Win 7 64 bit Ultimate on an Azus 64bit which had Vista, but then discovered Azus had no sound drivers for Win 7, so I have to get back to xp pro 64. HI I've just unpacked a brand new Acer Aspire . I understand it's preloaded with windows 8 64 bit. The windows store said I could upgrade to windows 8.1 but that I should update windows 8 first. I changed settings to manually update and searched for windows 8 updates of which there were just over 100. I asked it to install them but about 87failed. I could get to the desktop and look at update history - clearly said the updates failed. I'm new to windows 7, since I had XP, and I've updated everything. My computer says there are drivers missing for chipsets and other categories. When I tried to download them, windows won't let me "run" the program and I see that Windows has been configured to never install drivers. I tried to change it, but everything is set to automatically download updates. I went into device manager and it says the ports for usb and sd cards, etc. are up to date. But all the driver updates were "automatically archived". I even tried to download separately and my computer won't let me. What's going on? There are no more updates on "Windows Update". I have windows 7 professional with AMD Radeon HD 7470 graphics card. About 3 months ago my display started automatically going from Aero theme to Basic. I can change back but within 10 minutes it reverts again to basic. All I really care about is the Thumbnail Windows so I can see where/what I have open in the taskbar. That and it drives me nuts when it switches. Is there a way to fix? Do I need to upgrade something. As I'm computer illiterate I will add I have 2-HP Monitors hooked up if that means anything.
