For most of us, cellular data through our carrier is limited. Whether you're traveling internationally or you're about to hit your data cap for the month, turning off cellular data completely lets you rest assured you won't be hit with overage charges. Here's how: How to turn off cellular data on an iPhone or iPad Launch the Settings app on your iPhone or cellular capable iPad. Now tap on Cellular — on the iPad, it's labeled Cellular Data. Turn the option for Cellular Data to Off. Alternately, if you're only concerned with roaming charges, you can turn off Data Roaming in the same menu as cellular data. This option should stop your iPhone or iPad from ro…

Some questions come to mind re this issue. Installed the 'fix', but really trying to understand 'what was the threat?'. What was so important that MS was compelled to issue this 'one time fix'? It would be helpful in deciding how to move forward, to know the answers to these questions. Most of the notices from MS have a rather ominous tone. I understand a lot of government computers run on XP. How does a 'one time fix' help them in the long run? Whatever is one to do? Do I totally scrap using XP and IE8? Do I use XP only offline/completely severed from the web, and aquire other means of surfing/computering online? What if I couldn't afford the latter, or, in the…

My hard drive crashed, and my laptop is 3 years old figured I'll replace it. Bought a new hard drive, installed it last night, used my Dell System Recovery disc which I made when you first purchased pc. I have Windows 7 Home Edition. My DELL laptop states it's a 64 bit. Now the laptop is working fine, have my internet, firewall, antivirus, printer, webcam, working but before I start updating multiple drivers I want to update my windows as there so many security. I know my Laptop is over 3 years old, so I was expecting over 100 updates. My recovery disk did not ask me to authenticate windows which I found odd but must've already been on the disk. I check the pro…

Hello, I am using ADV7180 as a video decoder and using it to view the four analog channels. I have to display four channels at the same time in four different windows. It's ok if the frame speed is low and not 25fps for the four windows. Can be 5 - 10 fps. Right now, even with two windows, it is not acceptable. I am using OpenCV for capturing and rendering. I am using ioctl call to the adv driver to switch the channel. Though ultimately this is one byte, i think may be i can improve the timing and frame rate by circumventing the icotl call. I read about mmap implementation in chapter 15 of LDD and was thinking of using it, but, i am not sure if this will re…
