The Mini by Everpurse is a large sized wallet that includes a built-in, in-line charger for the iPhone 5s and iPhone 5. Simply pop it up, pop your iPhone in, and you're off an charging. The original Everpurse was much bigger and hid the iPhone charger in a pocket. This one is small and anything but hides the iPhone. Whether that sounds like the best or dumbest idea ever will depend entirely on how you see the convergence of fashion and technology. Everpurse: Experience up to 48 hours of phone battery life — from zero to 100% three times. Place your iPhone 5 or 5s into Mini's aluminum charging dock, which embeds it safely on the backside of the wallet. Inside the har…

Google's YouTube is reportedly going to acquire popular video game streaming service, Twitch for more than $1 billion. Twitch lets Xbox and Playstation gamers share and watch live gameplay footage, and they claim more than 45 million visitors a month. According to Variety: The deal, in an all-cash offer, is expected to be announced imminently, sources said. If completed the acquisition would be the most significant in the history of YouTube, which Google acquired in 2006 for $1.65 billion. The impending acquisition comes after longtime Google ad exec Susan Wojcicki was named CEO of YouTube earlier this year. Depending if and how the deal ultimately shakes out, …

AT&T has announced that they're planning to buy DirectTV. Rumored for weeks, the deal would give AT&T access to 20 million DirectTV customers and, theoretically, make them more competitive with Comcast, which is in the midst of their own merger with Time Warner Cable. What's especially interesting is that AT&T clearly sees this deal as fueling more than simply traditional television service: The premier pay TV brand with the best content relationships now poised to deliver video to multiple screens – mobile, TV, laptops and more – to meet consumers' future viewing and programming preferences The deal "implies a total equity value of $48.5 billion an…

As you have likely seen by now, Windows Phone 8.1 is full of many amazing new features, but perhaps one of the most visually striking is the new Start Background feature, which allows people to set their Start screen to have a background image displayed behind the tiles. Figure 1Start Background in Windows Phone 8.1 There’s just one thing though… in order for users to see the image behind the tiles, the app’s tile needs to have a transparent background, so if yours doesn’t have this yet, here’s how to do it. [Do note that if you used a transparent image asset for your tiles in Windows Phone 8.0, (which many did, since this is how you would have achieved a tile th…

In earlier, "better" (?) versions of Windows, when you run the task manager you have the option of displaying a mini icon in the reporting area of the task bar which shows the CPU percentage. That feature has disappeared. I am not sure, but I think it was also initially available in Win 8, until some update nuked the feature. This arrow is pointing to an approximation of what it looked like (this is a different tool). It was a black box with a green bar graph. I like being able to see a quick graphical representation of CPU use for times when the system response slows down. Is high CPU use the problem or is it high disk rate use? Can I get it back? …

Hi My computer automatically updated 2 days ago (Im using Windows 8.0 on a touchscreen Acer Aspire). Since the update completed, it now takes an extra tap to press a button on the touch screen after typing. Once the screen is tapped, it performs normally and each tap is executed. But as soon as I begin typing, the first tap to the screen goes unregistered. Two questions: 1. Is this a known feature that I can fix with a setting? 2. If not, can I undue the update? Sincerely Nikhil Continue reading...

I have a very new (1 month old) HP Envy laptop that is running the most current version of windows. The computer runs fine, the only thing is that I cannot open the windows store. I have not really noticed until now because everything else works and I have not needed to use the store until now. When i try to open the app it goes to the "green screen" with the logo and the loading image with the circles moving around goes and goes but the app never opens, nor does it give me an error message. I have tried using a troubleshooter to fix the problem but it does not give me anything, so it said my best option is to go to the forums for help. Does anyone know how this can be fi…

I really need help ASAP as I can't even use the computer and it's completely useless in this state. I tried restarting the computer but it doesn't fix the problem. My computer has been idle for a few days and I just used it this morning to listen to some music and that's it. The computer has been doing a lot of mandatory Windows updates as of late but I didn't…
