I was bringing my lifecam studio to uni to record a lecture today, I downloaded the lifecam studio software and the firmware update file from here "http://www.microsoft.com/hardware/en-au/p/lifecam-studio/Q2F-00001#support" after installing the "Lifecam 3.6" and plugging in the webcam the install finished. After I decided to update the firmware and while updating the firmware the lifecam 3.6 started opening in the background automatically, (I didn't know that would happen), the firmware update failed and recommended I re-plug the device and try again, when I re-plugged the device windows did not recognise the device at all, nothing in device manager, no sound for plugging…

Hi I just have a general windows question. If I have a program installed on my computer with all the program files one of which is an executable that runs the program, can I copy the files to another computer and run the program with the same executable or do I need the original installation file? Hello, I am using Windows 7 on PC which was bought 3 years ago. Yesterday I installed Xvid codec and used VirtualDub to make a .avi video with xvid compression. However, after I finished, I could not play the video on WMP or WMM. Both WMP and WMM crashed. How can I solve this? Should I install some additional codec pack? Or should I reinstall WMP and WMM? I have Windows 7, and I am attempting to add some files to blender. I downloaded a zip file, but when I try to extract it, it gives me Error 0x80004005: Unexpected Error. I went to look inside of the zip file, and it contained .py files. I looked into these, and they are for python, so I downloaded and installed that. Since the latest windows update I have no been able to run a backup, I continuously receive shadowcopy errors. My other machine will backup just fine. It is running win 7 pro. I have deleted all backups and tried to backup again, same error. What would cause this? Continue reading...

I am using ubuntu 12.04. I am trying to install a program tar.gz. I unzipped with the right mouse button the content and there are only licence file and install.pl The install.pl file reads PERL. Twitter is reportedly looking to acquire SoundCloud in what could be its biggest acquisition to date. Playing some older games at the moment In Halo Combat Evolved after first getting the warthog you go through a tunnel system and come to a bridge, as I drive down the ramp the screen turns purple with the hud overlayed and I have no control, then the game resets to a savepoint just immediately before you turn onto the ramp down to the bridge. Three days ago I recieved a yellow shield notification that indicates a download is required and useually I click on it or them, and the process begins/then completes and all is good. However, while this was going on I noticed in the lower tool bar the one with the little icons on the lower right side next to the clock that the icon showing the speaker just up and vanished from my tool bar ! Now I have no sound and no sound system and I have been advised that I need to download the driver for that. I ran in to a major problem on my surface 2. Suddenly after an update many of my apps were uninstalled and I can't get them running Again. It is for for instance facebook and Skype. On Windows store they are posted as uninstalled - I then install them but they can't be run or found anywhere afterwards. They post as installed for a short while and the uninstalled Again. It somehow seems that Windows store has a wrong path for some apps. I tried resetting the store but no luck still the same. Do any of you have any suggestions? Continue reading...
