Clothing retailer Uniqlo is now offering customers the opportunity to customize their T-shirts. Similar to what a custom screen-printed shirt would be, Uniqlo's rather unique UTme! app, available for Android and iOS, will allow users to custom print a shoot with their own designs or photographs. There is also a community gallery where you can see designs that your peers have created and also vote on them; it's like an Instagram for tees. Additionally, shaking your phone will apply random effects to your design to spruce it up if you need help with some creativity to make your designs stand out. Tees will sell for about $20 for the finished product. Uniqlo's site s…

Apple's rumored $3.2 billion tie-up with Beats Electronics may not have happened as quickly as first reported, but the deal is still happening. As we all continue to scratch our heads as to why exactly Apple would acquire beats, the latest reports circle back to talent — they want Jimmy Iovine and Dr. Dre. According to TechCrunch: "They want Jimmy and they want Dre," said the source. "He's got fashion and culture completely locked up." Sure the successful line of headphones and the streaming music service are an added bonus to the potential deal, but adding Iovine and Dre to the Apple team could unlock new potential in the media industry as a whole. Even before…

Five minutes after logging off and shutdown of my PC I T turned on the PC again and tried to log on again. The logon was taking an unusually long to complete. Suddenly two dialog boxes openned. One had a timer ticking down to shutdown. The other was a Windows Product Activation dialog box saying "This copy of Windows must be activated with Microsoft before you can log on. Do You want to activate Windows now? The timer expired and the PC shut down and restarted. I tried to log on again and the Windows Product Activation dialog box popped up. This has never happened before! What could have changed that caused this? csf. Continue reading...

This is freaking me out. Prior to today, I've never experienced this problem before. Now it has happened twice. I haven't done anything special, and I don't know how to fix it. It says that the problem is with win32k.sys and something about page fault in non paged area. Also it started doing something called a physical dump. What is that? Should I let it happen? I don't want to lose my data. This also appears: stop 0x00000050 (0xe2c0b000, 0x00000001, 0xbf97c771, 0x00000001) Continue reading...

I've recently installed windows 8.1 and I have not been able to connect to the internet ever since . I've tried various remedies I searched for on various forums like using the elevated command prompts netsh winsock reset catalog and netsh int ip reset reset.log hit , even tried ipconfig /renew andipconfig /release . But still nothing . I also tried removing AVG but still nothing . I'm pretty sure its also not a router related issue as all the other computers in my home connect to the wifi and in addition to that I've tried to connect the laptop to different routers and still nothing . I have recently bought a new graphics card for my computer. I installed the video card correctly, and then installed the drivers with the disk that came with it. After restarting the computer, the shortcuts disappeared and my machine was saying that there was a second monitor, which I do not have. So I clicked on devices, on the right hand side (windows 8) and clicked "display second screen only" on accident. Now my only monitor will no longer display any image at all. I took out the video card, and used the I/O DVI port and my screen continues to turn on and off with no image displayed. Continue reading...

I have tried running Rootkit Revealer - I enter the Admin password when asked, but nothing happens on my machine. I also tried "Run as Admin" but the same nothing happened. Makes me a bit suspicious that I've been hacked and diagnostic tools are being prevented from running. Or is this normal under Windows 7 (last time I ran it was under XP)? Any ideas/suggestions, anyone? Continue reading...

I never intended to engage Windows Power Shell, but somehow I did. I guess I unintentionally hit a hot key? First, Windows Media Center kept booting up on its own. I tried to remove any file associations with WMC. Suddenly my icons changed and files such as Restore are now PS files. I tried booting with my Windows Boot Disk created when I first bought the computer, but I don't know how to get the restore process going if I cannot access the Restore function. If you do not already know, I am as dumb as a box of rocks. I have no hard core computer experience. I have built the hardware but I am senseless about how it runs. I can make lots of programs work just fine, but the…

If I switch from one Windows 7 based a program to another, many times it will result in a black screen. The monitor power on blinks (it's usually on solid) I've read through a number of posts, and tried several things. If I press the "Windows" button on the keyboard, unplug the monitor, wait 15 -30 minutes, and plug it back in, it will usually return to the Windows screen. Here's the scoop: I have updated all the drivers....still happens I have removed all games...still happens I've run defrag and disk cleanup....no luck I checked power options....nope I've run Windows trouble shooter, no recommendations. I changed the following hardware; monitor, DVI ca…

After I updated my Windows 8.1 to 8.1 update, I notice that every time I boot up the Windows, an alert appears on top left corner showing Windows Defender is taking action to clean detected malware. At the beginning, I believe the Windows Defender is working very well. However, I did not see this alert before and now it appears every time I boot up the Windows. I have been infected with the win32-zbot. It is identified on my computer as C:\Users\mary\AppData\Roaming\Izsiom\bului.exe. I can follow the path to the folder IZSIOM and bului files, but ot delete. I logged on as administrator and took ownership of the object, but still can't remove it. When I look at the Properties of the file the security settings allow total access, but when I highlight it, the "remove" button goes gray so I can't click it. I've granted myself, as administrator, permission to access the file but cannot delete it. When I try, I get a "need permission" message. I don't know how to gain the permission necessary, although I've read all the info on…

On holiday in France from UK. MacBook Pro. OSX 10.9.2 Safari 7.0.3 Last night I was in the hotel, connected to the internet using the hotel wi-fi "WifiPass from Passman". Safari suddenly posted a new page in a new tab from "updateplayer.us" demanding an "urgent update to FlashPlayer" and a pop-up window that only had an "OK" button and no cancel. Nothing worked on Safari. Could not close windows, etc. I clicked nothing. Force Quit Safari. Restarted computer and it all reappeared. Force Quit again. Cleared History. Got into Prefs and blocked pop-ups. Opened Safari (can't remember exactly the order of this - it was very late!). Got the "updateplayer" page without the …

One of my issues with Mavericks is that I miss the little slider in the lower right corner of Finder windows where I could easily change the size of icons in the window. This feature was very helpful when looking for photos in that folder. I could instantly make them larger to determine the differences between similar photos. Is there any way to do this now? Perhaps a keyboard shortcut or something else that I am missing? Thanks Peg Continue reading...
