Photo Stream is a great way to share photos with friends and family who also use iPhones and iPads. However, the more shared Photo Streams you are a part of, the more notifications you will receive. That means each and every time someone adds photos, you'll be notified. If at some point you find you're getting too many notifications, you can easily disable them on a stream by stream basis if you choose. How to disable shared Photo Stream notifications on iPhone and iPad Launch the Photos app on your iPhone or iPad. Tap on the Shared tab in the bottom navigation. Tap on the Photo Stream you'd like to disable notifications for. Tap on People in the bottom navigati…

A new section in the App Store guidelines suggests that virtual currencies like Bitcoin may very well be supported in the future on iOS. Previously Apple had placed a ban on those sorts of apps, but section 11.17 shows there's been some easing up. "Apps may facilitate transmission of approved virtual currencies provided that they do so in compliance with all state and federal laws for the territories in which the app functions." The legality of Bitcoin is still a subject of hot debate, so it's probably wise for Apple to sidestep the issue and let legislators sort it out. No doubt there's a wealth of Bitcoin apps that could enjoy popularity in the App Store. Of …

Hi, A while back I had installed Ubuntu on an external hard drive, and I stupidly didn't remove my Windows 8 hard drive. So I had accidentally installed Grub on my Windows 8 boot stuff. Just now I have borrowed my friend's Windows 8 Pro disc to try to fix the boot record (I have a preinstalled Windows 8 on my laptop). So I booted up the disk and used command line to repair the boot: bootrec /fixmbr bootrec /fixboot Now Grub seems to be removed; when I click Ubuntu in the "Use a Device" advanced options it doesn't boot to Grub it just boots normally. But that's where the problem is: I want to remove the Ubuntu option in the Use a Device area (that's in ad…

Canon IUT comes with my wi-fi digital point and shoot camera. It is supposed to load on my computer at bootup and automatically download photos remotely uploaded to Canon's cloud. However, it will not run. I have been to Canon support and they have no record of any other instances of this problem, which I believe since my online searches also show no other instances. I have eliminated my Norton Security Suite as an issue; IUT will not load whether Norton is enabled or disabled. I have copied below the contents of the WER file for this error. Can anyone decipher this and point me in a productive direction for solving this problem? I apologize for the long post. I was going…
