whea_uncorrectable_error while running multiple game clients simultaneously
by Guest DarbyPentacle- 0 replies
A few months back, my system started to get whea_uncorrectable_error when playing Everquest. I play on the Emulation servers and I would run between 6 and 12 game clients simultaneously. Always worked just fine. Now, however, I can only run 4 without worry of crashing the system. If I run extra fans I might be able to run 6 but it is still likely that I will get a crash now and then. Unfortunately, I don't recall if there had been any major changes to the system before this started. So, I created another system on a new hard drive and it was only for gaming. So to run EQ, I would boot to this new system and it seemed to work a little better for a while, but then it…

windows media player 12 - top and bottom of video are cut off
by Guest Pampro- 0 replies

Using Windows Media Player 12 on Windows 7 PC I'm finding that the tops and bottoms of videos are cut off when played with WMP12. I can find no possible adjustment controls in the program. This does not change when I view in a window or full screen. I use two of these PCs side by side. The older one (1.5 years older) using the same configuration (WMP12 on Windows 7) renders the video correctly. How can I make the newer machine show the entire video? Continue reading...

I am wondering if anyone can help. I recently installed some new updates and had them going overnight, I woke up the next morning and since then have been unable to boot my Lenovo G780 laptop. It is a new machine so I do not have any restore points, It will not allow me to boot in Safe Mode, I have tried StartUp Repair multiple times but it is unable to repair, I do not have an installation disk as Windows 7 was already on the machine. I am wondering if there are any solutions which a/ do not involve me having to "wipe" the machine, or b/ involve me re-buying Windows 7. Is there any way I can create a system restore disk (please forgive me if this is the incorrect term…

by Guest dproctor- 0 replies

When you load Redhat 5 on to a dell with IRRT (Intel Rapid Storage Technology) it will give you this error or IRQ19 and then slip into an infinite loop. It will tell you to try to boot with this options but it is a huge problem to find the boot sequence file to edit. Instead go into your ios menu and make sure that your SATA drive is set up to run in ACHI as opposed to IRRP Continue reading...

xclock command not found - Oracle Linux 6.4
by Guest takram- 0 replies
Hi forum I want to do GUI based installation but xclock command is not found. I have checked, I don't have xclock at all by finding it. Code: # xclock -bash: xclock: command not found If I search x11 I found following: Code: # find / -name X11 /usr/lib64/X11 /usr/share/X11 /etc/X11 I don't think Xorg X11 is installed, because I can't see bin path of X11 in my PATH variable. So the challenge is to install this package on my box. It does not have internet so I can not run yum command. X11 Forwarding is also yes in /etc/ssh/sshd_config. Anyone can tell me the RPM UR L to download and install? And suggestion what's the way out. I am using f…

I got an arch linux iso,and wanted to make a bootable usb using dd. So for "of" i put /dev/sda which is my main hard disk drive (instead of sdb,the flash drive). Now,after reboot i get the arch linux installation screen, and cant boot my existing OSs.I even tried boot already existing OS but no luck. Any way that may lead to recovery? Any solution? Again, this is may not be the right place to ask,but I am a bit in chaos. Thank you in advance Continue reading...

Sonos Controller app for iPhone and iPad review
by Guest Allyson Kazmucha- 0 replies
Sonos finally updated their Sonos Controller app to version 5 and not only matched the interface and design of iOS 7, but gave it a better, more streamlined and fluid experience. Other than making the software match the ease and elegance of their hardware, however, how well does it work? For those already familiar with using the Sonos Controller app, all the services you hook into and all the settings will remain the same. A huge amount of the update contains an update interface. Luckily, that means the navigation and user experience has also been rethought and it even better than ever. Swipe to the right in any screen to access the main menu. From here you can u…

How to take panoramas with your iPhone
by Guest Allyson Kazmucha- 0 replies
Panorama mode on the iPhone Camera lets you capture much wider, much higher megapixel photos than are otherwise possible with the built in iSight lens. By taking a video-like stream of successive frames, the iPhone can literally match and stitch together a single photo greater than the sum of its parts. First introduced with iOS 6 and the iPhone 4, the current version can even make use of Apple's powerful image signal processor (ISP) to dynamically expose the entire image and make it look great from light to dark. Here's how it works! The difference between wide angle and panorama There's a fine line between what separates a photograph taken with a wide angle lens…

by Guest Chuong H Nguyen- 0 replies

Apple and Liquidmetal Technologies have announced that the pair will be extending Apple's licensing agreement for the latter's metal alloy through February 2015. Apple had been a licensee of Liquidmetal Technologies since 2010, but thus far Liquidmetal's use inside Apple's products have been limited to the SIM ejector tool that's packaged inside the iPhone and iPad boxes. The original licensing agreement was good from August 5, 2010 through June 15, 2012. Apple had amended that agreement to go through February 5, 2014 and now the company says that under the Second Amendment, "the parties agreed to amend the MTA and the First Amendment to extend the February 5, 2014 d…

by Guest Andrew Martonik- 0 replies

Just a quick note here — Safari has been bumped up to version 7.0.4 in the Mac App Store, bringing with it security improvements. This update won't have as many user-facing changes as 7.0.3 did, but any update that improves security is going to be worth the install. The latest version is available in the Mac App Store, and of course recommended for all Mavericks users. Continue reading...

I was updating the drivers on my PC and had updated the network drivers of my computer which required a restart of my computer. When my computer booted up it came to a network login window requiring a password. Well I don't know the password and there is no other way I know to bypass this. So my computer is useless until I find away to get he password or remove this network login requirement. so does anyone know a way to remove this by maybe going through safe mode and altering the login or change the password? or any hints of what the password may be because I don't have an admin password, like my wifi network code or something?
