Hi All, I finally got around to making a sweet rsync + encfs setup where the encrypted folder is shared between several devices and I can then mount it on each machine via command line and encfs. Seems to work fine. Next step is to create a script that I can just double click and it will pop up and just prompt for the password. I want to make it as simple as possible for my wife to be able to mount the encrypted drive (without automounting on boot ;) ). The folder contains a very limited number of things but they are encrypted for a reason. I tried: Code: #!/bin/bash terminal -e encfs ~/Public/.encrypted ~/Public/visible but it never prompts for a passwor…

Hello, I was recently working on a script & couldnt figure out how to address the fact of the following. Set WshShell = WScript.CreateObject("WScript.Shell") WshShell.Run "certmgr.msc",1 , true WshShell.AppActivate "certmgr" WScript.Sleep 1000 WshShell.SendKeys "{RIGHT 3}" WScript.Sleep 1000 WshShell.SendKeys "{TAB}" WshShell.SendKeys "^A" WshShell.SendKeys "{DEL}" WshShell.SendKeys "{ENTER}" WScript.Sleep 1000 WshShell.SendKeys "%fx" SendKeys will work to simulate keystrokes If I use a sleep Delay, but I was wondering how I could avoid using soo many sleep commands, . This will allow me to automatically clear personal store certificates in certmgr.e…

The M7 Motion Coprocessor in the iPhone 5s, opened up new doors for exercise apps. It's a great innovation in the space, but what about folks using any other iPhone? While they might not have access to the M7 there's still some great exercise apps out there, like this one from Puma. It's called Pumatrac, and simply put it's a run tracking app. It's free to download, and has a couple of great features to improve your workout experience. Pumatrac is a full on iOS 7 app experience, designed quite obviously for the latest version of Apple's operating system. The colors are simply black on white, and the interface isn't overcrowded. Everything is kept quite simple,…

AT&T is expanding its pre-paid GoPhone service to include a limited number of tablets for the first time. This will allow users with compatible tablets to purchase data time on AT&T's network on a monthly basis. AT&T's list of GoPhone-compatible tablets includes Apple's third-generation iPad and the iPad mini. Owners of these products must also purchase a $9.99 GoPhone SIM Kit card in order to use the service. Once that's done, they can pre-pay for their tablet data on AT&T's network. For $15 a month, users can access just 250 MB of data, and 100MB of additional data can be purchased for $10 each. For a $30 monthly fee, the data limit goes way up t…

It looks like we might be seeing the iWatch this October. The device, long-rumored to finally be coming this time, for real, seriously, is said to have a curved glass OLED display, with an array of sensor for capturing data on calorie consumption, blood glucose levels, sleep activity, and more. Apple has also apparently partnered with the Mayo Clinic and Cleveland Clinic in order to develop health data analysis technology, according to Nikkei. Apple has already announced its partnerships with the Mayo Clinic and Nike as part of HealthKit. The Cleveland Clinic is just one of the institutions that will be using HealthKit-enabled apps and devices when the system debuts …

Canopy for iOS 7 is a jailbreak utility for iPhone that adds lots of useful features to Safari. Does it bother you that the bottom bar auto-hides in iOS 7? Canopy can fix that. How about quick access to recently closed web pages? Canopy can do that too. After you install Canopy, most of the options you can use are enabled by default. A few however need to be enabled. If you want a complete list of everything Canopy does and how to access it, you can hop into the Settings app for a complete list and instructions. Some of my favorite features of Canopy are simple little things that I wish Apple would have thought of, such as opening a bookmark in a new page inst…

Hi Guys, I run a variety of Windows systems but have managed to screw up a version of XP that I still need to access. Quite simply I tried adding a further 50gig to my original 127gig partion on my 500gig HD. I used "Partition Magic" to do this and all seemed fine till I rebooted and now I get as far as the XP logo, instantly & momentarily followed by the BSOD - and back to reboot. I know with hindsight that this might have been daft but will Windows "R" repair come recover pick up what I believe to be missing Volume references???? Further i see many references to repair or recover.........are they one and the same???? Any help or ideas other than re…

I have my photos on the Micro SD card. I can delete from Desktop or using the app provided I open the photo so that it is full screen. However if the photo folder is open showing the list of photos then I cannot mark one or more photos for deletion, then delete, it says that the file could not be recycled. I asked Support for advise but they did not have a Surface with an SD card and could not replicate my problem and assumed that it was because my file was on the SD card. Has anybody else tried this and any advise. Continue reading...

However I tried to download IE again from the internet and it showed the former IE edition was there and preventing the new IE from downloading. I tried to delete the IE and download again but it does not work. Later on I understand that IE is a Window features that you cannot delete but only can diable. I believe the antivirus so…

Hi! My Windows Defender identified Zbot.gen!AP but couldn't remove it. (I also tried a few other free virus removers but they also said it required manual intervention.) Windows Defender tried to send a report on this, calling up Pahah.exe. I looked in the Startup tab in Task Manager and found Pahah.exe: the Publisher field was blank, and I couldn't find the file on a full search of C drive, so I disabled it. I ran Windows Defender again and removed Zbot.gen!AP. I ran it again, and some other free malware software I downloaded, and Zbot.gen!AP stayed deleted. So . . . what is Pahah.exe on the Startup menu? Since I can't find it under that filename,…
