With just a few more days until the big E3 2014 video game trade show begins, the folks at mobile publisher Gameloft have released the first teaser trailer for Modern Combat 5: Blackout, the next installment for one of their most popular franchises. The trailer itself has all of the first person modern military shooting action players of the Modern Combat series have come to expect from Gameloft. The brief teaser shows what looks like a campaign mission set in the canal-filled city of Venice, Italy. That means players can expect to shoot enemy helicopters while sitting on a speeding boat surrounded by buildings that are centuries old. There's not really anything e…

If you installed a beta version of iOS 8 on your iPhone or iPad and now find yourself thinking the bugs and crashes are more than you bargained for, you may want to return to iOS 7 again. Luckily, the downgrade process is fairly straight forward and simple. However, it does come with a few caveats... What you need to downgrade from iOS 8 beta to iOS 7.1.1 In order to downgrade to iOS 7.1.1 from iOS 8, you'll only need the following: A PC or Mac running the most recent version of iTunes — 11.2.2 is the current version Warning: You may lose all your data Before beginning, it's very important to understand that you will lose all your data from iOS 8. You …

Apple CEO Tim Cook used his Twitter feed today to show himself touring the Mac Pro factory in Austin, Texas Thursday. The post was an effort to promote the company's decision to start bringing more electronic product manufacturing to the U.S. In his Twitter post, Cook wrote: Watching the Mac Pro come together in Austin yesterday, thanks to a team loaded with American manufacturing expertise. The image itself shows Cook looking over the shoulder of one of the people working on the Mac Pro assembly line. We are sure that guy didn't feel any pressure at all with the CEO of the company looking over his work. Cook's Twitter message comes just a few days after…

I had a dual boot system - xp on one hard disk and windows 7 64 bit on another hard drive - My xp disk failed. I rebuilt a new xp drive from an old safekeeping xp disk. Now the system will not see the W7 as a choice in the boot sequence. If I make the w7 drive first in the boot priority in the BIOS it does not boot but indicates bootmgr is missing. Is there a way to fix this so I can boot xp usually and w7 when I need it for a different contract and different software? This is difficult for me to understand. I have tried everything I can think of but do not want to do anything to corrupt either system installation. Thanks to anyone who can help and if…

Just wondering if there were any newer suggestions to the problem of not being able to connect to the Windows 8 store. I have tried all of the solutions that are posted so far but no luck. When I try to connect, I get the green screen with the bag, but the circle underneath it just keeps spinning. I have reset the store, and it still doesn't connect. It was working fine until a week ago. I guess I won't be buying or updating any thing from there for a while. Is there a way to delete the app and reload it? Continue reading...

Hi all, I reinstalled Windows 8 on one of my Acer laptop, which came with OEM Windows 8. Because the BIOS Embedded Key, installation never asked for a key. After I installed wireless network driver, the machine is connected to the internet and windows get activated immediately. However, the system alerted me "You are about to be signed off in 30 seconds" shortly after and restarted itself. I assume it was because the limitation of inactivated windows (when I first signed in, I haven't get Windows activated due to no internet), so I let it restart and continue to play with it. But the restart thing won't go away. One thing is that when the system first reboo…

So here's the deal : I have an HP laptop that came with Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit, I always pull the battery out when it's plugged to the wall charger to keep the battery good. Yesterday, I put the laptop into sleep mode, then after a while, I mistakenly pulled it out of the charger, so It turned off. I left it and didn't open it, until after like 3 hours I came back, and since then it's stuck on the 'welcome' screen. Here's what I've tried : 1- Tried booting into safe mode and rebooting from it, but it didn't work. Note that it takes for the computer to boot into safe mode 5+ minutes, and it's very laggy and slow in safe mode. 2- Tried using a repair disc, but whe…

So a couple months ago my sound started to just dissapear suddenly when watching a video on youtube for example. Then it started working again for awhile. (It has be going on and off like this every time im using the computer.) So only way i managed to get the sound back for a video i had to keep refreshing the site over and over like 20 times or more and only then it starts working (sometimes). Other way is to restart the computer. What i noticed today was that whenever i cant get any sound the volume bar doesnt move at all. It's not on mute and the bar is at the top for max volume. I tried to use the troubleshooter link that i found on a windows help manager to sea…

Hi All, Trying to make a pretty basic bash script. The first thing that I need to do is compare two folders and copy any files that don't exists in folder2 but do exist in folder1 to folder2. Example: Folder1 Contains: 12.txt, abc.txt, 2bad.txt Folder 2 Contains: 12.txt,2bad.txt I need the script to compare the two folders and copy/paste abc.txt into Folder 2. Notes: 1. I'll need some kind of a loop because I add files to Folder1 routinely and the point is to create a cron job which will continue to populate Folder2. Thanks! Continue reading...
