This post was written by Kraig Brockschmidt, Senior Program Manager in the Operating Systems Group Lately we’ve heard some recurring questions from you about files and app data, so we’ve compiled a list of those questions and provided some brief answers here. In this first part, we’ll cover your app data questions. In part 2, we’ll answer some common questions about files and file access. Both posts apply equally to Windows 8.1 and Windows Phone 8.1. So, if you stream from the following services, data consumed from the following services won't count against your data plan, no matter how much you stream: Pandora iHeartRadio iTunes Radio Rhapsody Spotify Slacker Milk Beatport Additionally, even when you exha…

A tear down of Apple's new lower priced $1,099 iMac desktop reveals that, not suprisingly, the memory is not upgradeable. Users who purchase the system will be left stuck with the 8 GB of RAM that the device ships with as the RAM is soldered onto the logic board and cannot be swapped out for higher capacity modules. Additionally, users who opt for this model cannot choose a build-to-order option with more memory. If you want more memory beyond the 8 GB, you would have to choose the next iMac model up. That model starts at $1,299 with the same amount of RAM but with better hardware specs. Choosing to increase the RAM on a build-to-order option on that model will take …

When I plug the old hard drive into my SATA bridge and then into my new computer, it will recognize the device plugged in but will not show it in My Computer so that I can pull my data over to my new computer. With my last computer, I was able to do this with my former Vista drive. When I plug the drive into my work computer, Windows 7, it immediately shows up in My Computer and I can click through the folders that are not under my main user that is password protected. I have done the simple troubleshooting that Windows recommends but I am …

MS officially calls this model the "Sculpt of Business", the product can be seen here: http://www.microsoft.com/hardware/en-us/b/sculpt-ergonomic-keyboard-for-business. I am using Windows 7, 64bit. Today I arrived at work and found the numeric keypad has stopped working, however the mouse and keyboard are working fine. I thought it was a “Num Lock” key issue at first but it is not. I removed & re-inserted the battery in the numeric keypad, no change. I turned the mouse on & off, removed & re-inserted the batteries from the mouse & …
