Hallo guys, I just met a huge problem and I will need some help to resolve it. A few days ago, I tried to install a program, but the program was detected by Microsoft security essentials as a threat and successfully removed by the Antivirus. Today, I noticed that my Laptop GPU and CPU are overheating and I have started few tests to detect the problem. So, there 3 processes running in the background, but when I, m trying to take an eye of the task manager they disappear in the second I opened it. When I close the task manager they are resumed and the pc continue to get HOT (90^C). One of those processes is csc.exe. It's running together with two unknown …

I made a vortexbox bootable usb. Vortexbox is headless so it installs and sets up automatically no need for a monitor (or keyboard really). I just need my computer to boot from the USB. I have it connected to ethernet to my home network and I have my laptop running a live USB connected to the same network. I have no way of connecting a monitor to the other computer I want to use as a vortexbox server. How will I be able to get it to boot from the usb? Can I do this over the network? Can I just press something on the keyboard what can I do? Continue reading...

Hi, I am using the kmod v9 library (apparently) on my Debian machine with kernel 3.4. I am trying to understand module initialization, and as such went to look at how insmod works. As far as I can tell, the insmod command is just a symlink to kmod, which parses the command line to determine insmod is being meant, and then proceeds to finally call its do_insmod function. In there however (or in any of the other functions do_insmod calls), nowhere I can find that sys_init_module is being called. So how does kmod's insmod then finally proceeds to call the module's init function ?? Many thanks for helping me out here! Paul Continue reading...

Hi, I recently installed Fedora but I'm having a few issues with it. The Gdebi Package Installer isn't available in the software center at all. I'm not sure if that's because .deb packages don't work at all on Fedora, but if they do where else but the software center could I get Gdebi Package Installer? Also, I can't open .exe's whatsoever, with or without Wine. I do have the application and the option to open it with Wine, but when I do nothing happens. It just loads for a second and then... nothing. If anybody could help me out with these two problems I'd really appreciated. I'm not that great with computers so please be patient with me! The Plants vs. Zombies 2 update we scoped out at E3 is now available! The Dark Ages Part 1 brings back the mushrooms we all know and love from the original, affording a new and interesting way of collecting sunshine. The Zombies are following with the theme, donning full plate and sending in frenzied berserkers that fling pellets back at you. Plant food gives some unique new abilities to your three different mushroom types, plus there's a familiar premium plant, the hypnosis mushroom, which turns one of the zombies to fight for your defensive lines. As great as this update is, it's only Episode 1 of The Dark Ages, so expect some more medieval-themed goodness in Pl…

The BBC today sent out some weird push notifications to the broadcaster's official apps on both Android and iOS. It's a developer's worst fear when testing some new functionality goes live somehow and this is exactly what happened to the BBC. Push notifications were inadvertently sent out to live apps on both mobile platforms with some sample text. It is what's contained in these push notifications that makes this report rather humorous. Without spoiling too much for you Game of Thrones fans, apparently there'll be no nudity in the latest episode. Oh, and "push sucks" and "pull blows". Jesting aside, this is the result of testing the breaking news feature available i…

Just as Apple took over Moscone Center in San Francisco earlier this month for WWDC, Google this week descends upon the very same venue for its annual I/O developer conference. And while the meat of the discussions are related to Google's own platforms – Android, Chrome and all things related – we shouldn't ever forget that the iPhone is one of the absolute best Google phones money can buy. As such there's a great chance that we'll see some news of interest this week coming out of the event and Mobile Nations will be live on the ground to bring it all to you. Read on to see what you need to know. How to follow the action Android Central will have the men on the…

I have a legit serial number for activation that's on the computer itself it's just that the disc got lost. My husband was changing his account picture and noticed that it said "recommended" by standard account. Not knowing any better, he continued with changing our only admin account to standard. Now it is impossible to do anything productive on our PC. As it was a new computer, I never bothered to enable the hidden admin account. I've read through several posts with similar problems, and each is usually directed to running safe mode as an admin. Unfortunately, since no admin is enabled, this option is unavailable for me. I also tried the cmd prompt way to activate, but, alas, access denied. I've suggested a system restore, however my husband refuses to lose any of his …

Hi, since the past month or so, my computer has been crashing with Bluescreens. Most of the time it's BAD_POOL_CALLER, but can also be BAD_POOL_HEADER. I don't understand what is going on. I can't seem to find the source of the issue. Any help or information is appreciated. Continue reading...

I am suddenly having a problem with uploading pics from my Canon SX 120 IS digital camera using Windows Live Photo Gallery. Up till recently, I would open up Windows Live, click on the icon "import pics" & then I would connect my camera. The little box would pop up showing the camera was connected & then i'd click on "import". The last time I was able to upload pics from my camera was on 6/7/14. I was having some issues with the Norton anti-virus so I contacted Norton Tech Support to ask for help. They told me that an updated version of the Norton program needed to be installed & they did that for me right away. That was back on 6/10/14 & ever since …

I was trying to end the process sidebar.exe while downloading some AMD drivers because it was taking up 50k memory. I thought it was limited to just bing bar which I never use. Turns out its linked to a bunch of programs I use like GPU monitor, Avast Antivirus, daemon tools, etc. So when I tried to manually start a new program and run sidebar.exe through task manager it refreshed the screen and I'm at a much lower resolution than before. I tried restarting the computer and configuring my HDMI cable and nothing worked. When I go to change the resolution in Control Panel it still says I'm at 1920x1080 but I know for a fact that is not the case. how do I fix this? C…

Hello, I have Windows 7 PC that I built a year and a half ago. About a month ago I started having extreme issues with my USB keyboard and mouse where at the most random times the keyboard and mouse would basically freeze and disallow me to do anything. I knew the computer was not frozen because sometimes I was listening to music, or was on Skype, playing a game, etc. I would then have to force shutdown my computer holding the power button on my PC so that I can restart the computer where the USB issue would go away. I've tried disconnecting the keyboard/mouse and try other ports but once that freeze starts it's pretty much over for me and I have to restart the comput…
