But I've noticed that two of these were sent to special email address that only Microsoft knows (see below). The other 2 mails was sent to my public company address. I am registered with the *** Email address is removed for privacy *** in MS Partner network, but this address is not on their website listed or something like this. Has anyone else noticed anything similar? Are this real Microsoft mails? Regards, Oliver >>>>> Hi, I was hoping to hear back from you! Did you get a chance to revi…

I have a Canon 2200 MG printer. I replaced the low capacity black cartridge with a higher capacity cartridge. As a scientist, I decided to take the old one apart. As is typical of the "It doesn't need to last" mantra of printer manufacturers, the foam that holds the ink was quite non-absorbent. The foam was white and the only place it was black was where my needle had punctured the foam and it did not spread very far. I had previously refilled it twice. I replaced the foam with a much more absorbent foam and the printer ink soaked in great. I did multiple cleanings etc. but it won't print correctly. As much ink as I put in, I expected that ink woul…

by Guest ivotkl- 0 replies

Hello everyone. Since none of the other 3 threads found containing CSV match my question, I'm here writing to you with a simple question. I am using a web app that lets you import CSV files to create data. I have created a file that looks like this: Code: criteria1;criteria2;criteria3;criteria4 data1,data2,data3,data4 data1,data2,data3,data4 data1,data2,data3,data4 Now, I'd like to split data 2 into more than one line in the resulting output. Result should look like this: Code: criteria1;criteria2;criteria3;criteria4 data1;da ta 2;data3;data4 data1;da ta 2;data3;data4 data1;da ta 2;data3;data4 Is there any special combination of characters to i…

by Guest Rich Edmonds- 0 replies

Apple has come to an agreement outside the courts to close an antitrust lawsuit, which alleges the company conspired with publishers to inflate ebook pricing for iPhone and iPad owners. The lawsuit was brought forward by 33 US states and by avoiding the upcoming trial on July 14, Apple has avoided a potential payout of $840 million in damages. Both parties involved are expected to confirm the terms of settlement within 30 days. The lawsuit originated back in 2012 when the US Department of Justice accused Apple along with five publishers of ebook price fixing. The US states supporting the case are suing Apple on behalf of respective consumers, but individual class act…

Two months after taking the Nest Protect off shelves and issuing 440,000 recalls, Nest has announced that the smoke detector is now available for sale at a reduced price of $99. Originally retailing for $129, the Nest Protect was removed from store shelves on April 3rd as it was found that a feature that allowed users to silence notifications with a hand gesture wasn't functioning properly. It was discovered during testing that the Nest Wave feature allowed users to unintentionally deactivate the alarm in the case of an actual fire. Nest rolled out a software update within 24 hours that remotely disabled this feature, and has since provided a way for customers to …

by Guest Rene Ritchie- 0 replies
Continuity is one of the most important features in both iOS 8 and OS X Yosemite and one of the most important features in Continuity is call answering. Sure, Handoff is great, as is cross-compatible AirDrop, easy iPhone tethering, and keeping in touch with our green bubbled SMS/MMS friends and family. But being able to use your Mac and iPad as if they were iPhones? Being able to call Dr. Dre from your desktop? That's magic. And here's how it works! Why voice calling matters iPhones have full on cellular voice radios. That's what lets them make and receive calls over the traditional telephone network. iPads can optionally have cellular data radios, but that do…

The Unicode standard has been updated to add an additional 2,834 new characters, which includes about 250 pictographic symbols, or emoji. This expanded list of new symbols could help to add personality to messaging, such as SMS and MMS, Apple's iMessage, BlackBerry's BBM, Google's Hangouts, and other services. "This latest version adds the new currency symbols for the Russian ruble and Azerbaijani manat, approximately 250 emoji (pictographic symbols), many other symbols, and 23 new lesser-used and historic scripts, as well as character additions to many existing scripts," Unicode stated in a blog post. Changing DPI settings in Display - doesn't work.
by Guest Windows Setup- 0 replies
I'm in XP Pro SP3, Control Panel, Display, Settings, Advanced, General, Display, DPI setting,Custom Setting. It says I need dosapp.fon but when I load that it says it needs cga40woa.fon. When I do a search it says its in Windows/Fonts but I don't see it there. (I have EVERYTHING set to display with no files never hidden including operating system files so it should be there if it is.) A few more things don't work either but I'll spare you the sorry tale. Is there a better way of doing this? A way that actually works perhaps? And why can't it just load a different DPI setting without this hassle? I've done this 20 times but before it worked after I loaded the fi…

I have around 1,500 CDs ripped to the \\homeserver\Music share on my Windows Home Server. The CDs are ripped using the standard <Artist>\<Album> naming convention and are stored in WMA Lossless format. When I use other music programs (Squeezebox, J.River, Zune, Xbox Music on Intel-based PCs) to scan my music library they find all the CDs. However, Xbox Music on Windows RT (I use the first generation 32 GB Surface RT) finds some (900 or so), but not all of the CDs in my music library. Is there any way to force Xbox Music to re-scan my music library? Thanks in advance for any help or advice! Continue reading...

Hello, I have a brand new Windows 8 laptop on which I have just installed many updates. The laptop is now permanently stuck on a 'Failed to configure Windows updates. Reverting changes' screen. The solutions I've found online involve doing things once the computer has booted up, which obviously I can't do. Or they involve booting up in Safe Mode. I've tried all sorts of combinations of pressing F8, Fn+F8, Shift+F8, Shift+Fn+F8 at different times but I can't get the advanced start up menu up at all. How can I get past this stuck screen so that I can actually use my computer? Continue reading...
