by Guest MichaelQuaintance- 0 replies

Hello all, I've got a user in my organization that experiences a crash in ODBC Data Source Administrator when he clicks the File DSN tab. The mouse cursor switches to "busy" and will remain that way unless we force close the program. While the cursor stays this way in ODBC Data Source Administrator, the user is able to launch other programs and work otherwise normally. This happens with both the 32 and 64-bit version. Any help at all here is appreciated. Thank you. Continue reading...

by Guest JeromeSimms- 0 replies

I'm using Webroot SecureAnywhere 8.0.4.84 but that nasty Moneymaker Virus occasionally get pass it into my PC from opening various internet sites, or images ( non-adult/non-****) the normal everyday rated "G" sites that even a kid would open. I typically type "rstrui.exe" on command prompt/system restore from 24 hours prior which wipe out the nasty sucker. I check my PC after the Moneypak removal for the following: Processes * %WINDIR%\system32\0_0u_l.exe * %APPDATA%\jork_0_typ_col.exe * %TEMP%\0_0u_l.exe * %Temp%\[RANDOM].exe * tpl_0_c.exe * %StartupFolder%\ch810.exe DLLs * %StartupFolder%\wpbt0.dll Other Files * %StartupFolder%\ctfmon.lnk * WARNING.txt * V.class Registr…

How to get rid of IE bug ?
by Guest PSHRM- 0 replies
I have just upgraded to a new laptop running Windows 8.1 which has IE 11 as it's browser. When I first activated IE it seemed to be taken over by something called 'Rocket Search' (http://rocket find.com) which kept throwing up other sites. A quick Google search revealed Rocket to be some sort of parasite on IE. I uninstalled this from Programmes, did a restart by it's still there on IE. I then did a full system shutdown on the new laptop and reinstalled everything again but it is still there on IE. This seems to be a problem that came with the package and I assume IE are aware of it? Please bear in mind I'm not that computer savvy so any advice from s…

USB 3.0 Crossover / Bridge cable + USBNet?
by Guest TazzyTazzy- 0 replies
'Long time listener, first time caller here.' Spent some time asking Google about "linux usb 3.0 crossover network" (and variations). I've also searched on here. All I can find is some old posts (1.5+ years) with no answers. I have two computers that I share large amounts of data siting 4 feet apart. Currently, these machines are connected through a switch to the rest of my home network using 1Gbe. In my search, I found two versions of a crossover cable. I'm not sure I'm allowed/should post a link, they are both by DataPro the one I think will work is as "USB 3.0 Super-Speed A/A Debugging Cable". In the description is says in bold "Please note that this cable is …

by Guest Harish Jonnalagadda- 0 replies

Apple may wean away from licensing Nuance's services for Siri, instead creating an in-house speech recognition solution which will be used to power the virtual assistant in the future. Apple has already hired several experts in this field, including Nuance's former vice president of research Larry Gillick, and is said to be looking for more candidates in its bid to create a team of researchers to work on technologies like speech recognition, deep learning and neural networks. According to Wired: "Apple is not hiring only in the managerial level, but hiring also people on the team-leading level and the researcher level," says Abdel-rahman Mohamed, a postdoctoral rese…

What exactly does the Full Restore do? Documentation Required
by Guest SirSanSasparilla- 0 replies

Simply enough, can someone from Microsoft back up Windows 8/8.1's claim in writing that the full factory restore does a 1 pass overwrite, reformat and re-install's a 100% factory OS installation without transferring any end-user data? Is there a way to retrieve a log file of this action? FYI, I am not looking for a 3rd party data destruction solution. This is a very important question that I am asking, one that could make a very big difference. Thank you! Continue reading...
