by Guest Rich Edmonds- 0 replies
Square Enix has today announced a content update for Hitman Go has been released on the app store, adding more levels and functionality to the highly-rated puzzle game. The update itself contains an array of gameplay mechanics, including moving walkways, civilian mode and skipping turns, not to mention new enemies and 15 extra levels. The Airport box is available for free through natural progression or for a one-time purchase of $0.99. This content patch brings the total number of unlockable levels to 83. It's a neat game to get started with, and while it may appear simple to play it's rather difficult to master. The Square Enix team has managed to take the Hitman un…

by Guest Rich Edmonds- 0 replies
Have you ever wanted to see just how many times that funny body popping video has been viewed (or looped/repeated) on Vine? Now you can with the latest changes made to the popular service. Vine has rolled out updates to its Android, iOS apps as well as its web platform to introduce loop counters on published videos. Now it's possible to see counters while browsing through the app to determine what's popular using views as opposed to how many times that specific item has been shared. The number of loops (or views) are displayed in the upper right-hand side of each Vine, updating in real-time. A new, cleaner feed design is also included in this latest release, re-desig…

Looking to increase revenue from emerging markets like India, Facebook has announced that it rolling out a new "missed call" ad service that allows users to easily access information from brands and advertisers without incurring data or voice charges. The new ad service allows users to place a "missed call" to an advertiser by clicking on the ad block from their mobile devices, which will initiate a return call containing pre-recorded messages. The messages can be anything from brand adverts, cricket scores, messages from Bollywood celebrities, information on product discounts, sales and much more. Although the missed call model is followed by most carriers in the…

Civilization Revolution 2 is now available for iPhone and iPad
by Guest Rich Edmonds- 0 replies
For those of us who have been eagerly awaiting the release of Civilization Revolution 2 on iPhone and iPad will be able to rejoice as 2K has on the Apple App Store. We previously enjoyed some hands-on time with the mobile revival of the turn-based strategy game, which is well worth checking out before looking at the price and making the move to download. Many are skeptical when it comes to sequel reboots, but there are a handful of new things in Civ Rev 2. There are new wonders to explore, new units to recruit and some familiar faces like JFK and Churchill. There are also some new scenarios, including a Revolutionary War-themed one, which fits in nicely with Indepe…

Facebook draws ire of UK regulators over secret news feed study
by Guest Harish Jonnalagadda- 0 replies
Facebook is being investigated by UK regulators over concerns that the social network may have infringed on data protection laws in the country. This is a follow-up to findings that the social network conducted experiments on some of its user base without prior permission. The social network has come under a lot of flak after it was revealed last week that it conducted psychological experiments on nearly 700,000 users without their notice. The study modified the newsfeed algorithm to show overly positive or negative posts to users, with the intent of determining how these posts affected their status updates. The research revealed that users who were shown negative po…

Go from Windows 7 to Windows XP
by Guest Ryan53- 0 replies

I have a HP Laptop that currently runs Windows 7. I am a big fan of Windows XP and want to load that OS to my old laptop. I know all the consequences it may have, but I am still up for the challenge. So I know you need to boot to the disc, but I can't figure out how to do that. I go to BIOS and select load CD first on boot up. It still doesn't load the disc first. Is there any button on my 2011 HP Pavilion G6 that directly loads it to the disc boot-up? Thank you for your time. Continue reading...

by Guest BarbandHol- 0 replies

I recently lost 'Freecell' from my computer. (XP Home Edition) It was because I purchased 'Grimefighter' from Avast! I searched on this site how to reinstall it and was stumped at the first hurdle. You suggest 'Start/Control Panel/Programs/etc' but I do not have an icon for 'Programs' (Phone, Power Options and Printer are the only 'P' icons I have.) So I am stuck. Any other suggestions how to re-install Freecell please. I miss it! Continue reading...

DW WLan Peernet problem
by Guest MohanaManikandan- 0 replies
Hi there. I've a Dell N4010 Inspiron Laptop. It has the DW Wlan 1501 card. It has this amazing option to act as a wifi hotspot (through PeerNetwork). This option worked flawlessly for years. But now I'm having a hard time with this thing. When I use the Start Peer Network option, the icon turns yellow. When I try to connect my phone, for a moment it says A New Peer has joined. But as soon as the "Obtaining IP address" thing comes, the service wltray.exe turns off (shuts down and restarts). I have tried connecting my Nokia and Samsung phones but it is not working. The channel I'm using is 11 and the DHCP Server IP address is 192.168.16.1. I tried reinstalling the card but …

I can't get sound to come through my headphones
by Guest David Pontier- 0 replies
Usually, when playing sound on my laptop, once I plug in my headphones, the sound stops coming through the speakers and only comes through my headphones. Yesterday I installed skype. Now, when I play a video on my computer, the sound always comes through the speakers regardless of whether my headphones are pluged in. When I start skype, all of that sound comes through my headphones, but all other sounds still come through the speakers. I'm guessing if I uninstall skype, that will solve he problem, but I'd rather keep skype and figure out how to resolve this issue. This happens both when skype is active and when I quit the application. Thanks, David P C…

I accidently installed "Finally Fast" optimizer on my PC and now I cannot uninstall it. I ran all the usual programs to rid my PC of it (R-Kill, TDDS Rootkill, JRT-Junk Removal Tool, ComboFix, AdWareCleaner) w/o success. Would appreciate any help as I understand this is really treacherous rogueware. Oh yes, I also tried RevoPro Uninstaller which is usually successful, but not this time. HELP! Continue reading...

Recover Deleted Files from Andriod's internal storage
by Guest G-Known- 0 replies

If I deleted some pictures on my phone, where does it go? Data isn't lost but rather hidden, since many could argue that you can still retrieve through software usage but usually requiring root access to your phone. Apps on Google Play have these tools available but mainly for root users but does a tool exist for Linux users that can provide the same function without rooting your phone or the prerequisite of having an external storage (SD Card, Memory Card, ..etc.)? Missing GLIBC (?)
by Guest wm.m.thompson- 0 replies
Hello forum. Total newbie here. When I type "adb devices" from the terminal command line in Red Hat Linux, I get this: adb: /lib/lib.so.6: version GLIBC_2.7 not found (required by adb) So, I figure the first thing I need to do is to see if I really do not have glibc. If I do, I suppose I will have to make sure the path points to it. If I do not have it, find where I can get it and this version of it? Doesn't the following command look for this? find / -name glibc If so, I do not think I have glibc. So where do I get it? Continue reading...

by Guest champ_weller- 0 replies

I installed lubuntu 14.04 (the smaller alternate iso) on a server the other day but when it comes to the log in screen (or so i think) my monitor running vga says the resolution is to high its at 1280x720 )or something similar) Then the screen starts flashing on and off so i can see what looks like a login screen but i cant tell it has a white box in the middle and the background for the desktop. I was reading this article. Change LXDE Screen Resolution in Ubuntu (or Lubuntu) - Sudo Juice | Sudo JuiceSudo Juice and i was trying to get into terminal by pressing ctrl+alt+t and that wouldn't allow me to get into terminal to change the resolution. I also have an iso…

Postfix Sending via secondary SMTP server as redundancy
by Guest adza- 0 replies
Hi, We have Postfix configured within our office to deliver emails on our email clients behalf (instead of using their ISP's SMTP sever). I was wondering if it's possible to configure postfix to use a seperate SMTP server (such as our ISP's) if it is unable to send email itself. (ie, if our IP address is blocked by an external party, or if our server is unable to resolve a mx for a domain, etc). I'm guessing this is well outside the scope of normal usage, but was wondering if it's possible, and if it's easy to do? Thanks & Regards Adam. Continue reading...
