MSE hid Axpergle virus
by Guest imposs- 0 replies
When I did a Quick scan on my computer with Microsoft Security Essentials it said that nothing was detected. When I clicked on the History tab it showed no items had been Quarantined. When I clicked on the radio button for "All detected items" it then, and only then, showed that it had detected Exploit:JS/Axpergle.E which it described as a dangerous virus and which it had quarantined. It advised me to remove it immediately which I did. Exactly the same has happened several times. I am of course glad that MSE detected this item and removed it but why were there two lies (or at least, two misleading statements) on the way? First it said that nothing had been detected w…

How to see who is using the mail server?
by Guest justinwyllie- 0 replies

Someone is using the Postfix mail server on my CentOs 6.4 system to send spam mail. I see this in the log: Jul 5 19:25:45 048582 courier-pop3d: LOGIN, user=info@x.com, ip=[::ffff:nn.nnn.nnn.54], port=[1265] Jul 5 19:25:57 048582 courier-pop3d: LOGIN, user=info@x.com, ip=[::ffff:nn.nnn.nnn.54], port=[1267] Jul 5 19:31:52 048582 courier-pop3d: LOGIN, user=info@x.com, ip=[::ffff:nn.nnn.nnn.54], port=[1295] That looks to me like a line saying there has been a successful login for a user 'info@x.com'. Is this right? And, secondly, what are those port numbers? That looks like scanning - but isn't this the IP and port of the client making the connection? EDIT…

Hi! I'm new to Linux and installed Lubuntu 14.04 on an old Toshiba A10 that had a lost password. It runs great but after i fixed the Network bug relating to nm-applet, my network won't accept my password (I'm using correct password). Could I need a driver (I check the driver manager and nothing showed up regarding proprietary drivers required). Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'd rather not spend a third weekend trying to fix this my self. Thanks in advance. Continue reading...

by Guest Rich Edmonds- 0 replies

The Tournament has begun. Stop waiting for buildings to finish. That's how the description reads for this brand new game on the App Store called Fates Forever. It's a new take on the "freemium" games we've all come to know and despise, enabling players to engage in heated battles with one another. Fates Forever brings the popular MOBA (multiplayer online battle arena) scene to iPads. Choosing from one of eight heroes to join in the real-time combat with other team players, combatants are tasked with destroying towers, capturing shrines, casting spells and claiming victory. The neat part about the experience is how there are no waiting times and no speed ups requiring…

Apple hires TAG Heuer marketing exec ahead of rumored 'Swiss-made' iWatch launch
by Guest Joseph Keller- 0 replies
Apple has hired the sales director for Swiss watch maker TAG Heuer. The man was apparently hired to help launch Apple's long-rumored iWatch, thought by many to be coming this fall. The unnamed executive left TAG Heuer last week Jean-Claude Biver, head of watch brands for TAG Heuer's parent company LVMH, believes that this has to do with how Apple will market the watch, according to CNBC: Apple's plans to hire Swiss watch experts are an attempt to market its product as "Swiss made", which senior luxury goods analyst at Bernstein, Mario Ortelli, said is a label that is synonymous with quality when it comes to watches. Apple, along with other tech companies, is sa…

by Guest john_cole49- 0 replies

I am being haunted by two versions of the rovnix virus ... MSE scans identify them but when I try to remove them one shows as being removed, the other shows as an error occurred. I run Windows Defender Offline with the same result ... it identifies the two virus' but can only remove one, however subsequent scans show that both are still there. This morning my computer showed that it had shut itself down last night and left this warning: Problem signature: Problem Event Name: BlueScreen OS Version: 6.1.7601.2.1.0.256.48 Locale ID: 1033 …

I also use start8 but that's not working either. These are the only problems I noticed but can someone help? By the way I use windows 8 and an hp pavilion g7. I also cleaned my registry using cleaner. That's all. Continue reading...
