File Explorer - Window opens but is invisible.
by Guest TristanB98- 0 replies

This is an issue which I've had for about 2 days now. The problem is that the file explorer window opens successfully but appears to be invisible. I've tried accessing file explorer in as many ways as i can think (task bar, desktop, downloading a file online and clicking "show in folder", or via windows search, but in every case the window opens but does not show. The icon in the task bar becomes highlighted (to show it is open) and i can hover over the icon and the preview window will show but clicking the icon or trying to actually open the window does not work, other windows are greyed out (to show that a window is open over it) but the file explorer doesn't actually a…

I have two SSDs and two HDDs in my pc. SSD1 is exclusively for operating system. Windows 7 has taken 88GB of the 111GB available on the SSD. I downloaded and ran TreeSize and discovered the following: Windows is actually using 21345MB which sounds about right. I have a laptop as well and it's drive has been partitioned, the 1st partition being exclusively for the operating system, and the usage is just over 20GB. TreeSize shows another 2 files: pagefile.sys using 32712MB and hiberfil.sys using 24534MB. This is where my drive's space went. How do I get rid of these 2 files? Continue reading...

by Guest ComputerConsumer- 0 replies

Last night my mother started her laptop, and got a screen that startup repair was running. I helped her out by clicking on the recommended suggestion to restore computer to a prior point, and when restarted a black screen appeared with only a recycle bin icon. Curiously, the start menu identified as a recently used program the Bluetooth Suite although my mom does not use any Bluetooth devices, and the list of all programs did not contain some programs that otherwise should have been associated with my mom's laptop. It was as if I were looking at someone else's screen. I restarted the laptop again, and this time her screen appeared with her associated programs. Curiou…
