Many of us have some time around the holidays to just relax and have fun. What better way to do it than to kick back and play some awesome games on your Mac? Wether you're buying for yourself or outfitting a new computer for a friend or family member, here's a roundup of the best new releases for the Mac. I've linked specifically to games on Steam, which I prefer to use compared to the Mac App Store. They're the same games you'll find on the MAS, but using Steam often gives you the benefit of being able to play cross-platform (if you also have a PC), store saved game data in the cloud and have a better social experience by unlocking achievements and comparing your sc…

From choirs and orchestras to rock and pop to soundtracks and carollers, it's everywhere and anywhere many of us go. Here are our favorites! Ally: When I think of Christmas music, I think of my mom who loves holidays more than anyone I know. I have some great memories growing up of decorating the tree the weekend after Thanksgiving, making cookies, and just having coffee or tea on a cold night. There's nothing worse than sitting down to watch a movie on the Apple TV and having streaming issues. Lately a lot of users, including myself, have been having issues in particular with iTunes purchases. From playback errors to excruciatingly long wait times for streaming to start, there are a few things you can try in order to get streaming straightened out and back to full speed again! 1.Check your internet connection Before trying any troubleshooting steps, be sure that your internet connection itself isn't the problem. Your Wi-Fi could be working but not your ISP. You could be connected but bandwidth could be low or packet loss high. The first thing you…

When I reviewed ArtRage some of you asked me to take a look Art Set Pro as well. Since I'm not one to back down from a challenge, I coughed up the $6.99 and downloaded myself a copy. So, was it worth it? Well… At first glance, Art Set Pro looks fantastic. In fact, I couldn't wait to launch it and play with it. It has all of the tools one would expect from any portable art program and the interface looks nice. But, at least for me, it falls short compared to other apps I've used in the past. There are a wide range of tools available from pencils and pens to brushes and pastel. In addition, Art Set Pro includes tools for blending. Plus, it has a decent color mixer and…

Here in the US, it's typically played for 24 hours straight starting on Christmas Eve, …

First things first: Left-side Dock, forever. I know there are some people who prefer having their Dock along the bottom of the screen, but when you're rocking an 11-inch Air, a bottom Dock takes up valuable screen space. And to borrow from the Doctor: side Docks are cool. When it comes to the 11-inch Air, screen real estate is at a premium, so I tend to use multiple desktops in Spaces — each with their own desktop picture, naturally. The one pictured above is my primary desktop (with a fun little Guardians/Star Wars mashup illustration from Matt Ferguson as my desktop picture). My other desktops have variations of the system wallpaper, for screenshot purpos…
