Why a 32GB iPhone costs $100 more
by Guest Rene Ritchie- 0 replies

Apple's updated iPod touch lineup separates 16GB, 32GB, and 64GB capacity models by $50 price increments. That's new for Apple in the iOS device lineup. Previously for the iPod touch, and still for the iPhone and iPad, capacity models are separated by $100 price increments. There are some other factors, like iPhone 5c vs. iPhone 5s pricing, or iPad Air vs. Retina iPad mini pricing, or iPad Wi-Fi vs. iPad cellular pricing. However, for the most part, Apple chooses to segment devices by capacity. So, is that a good thing or a bad thing? First and most importantly — it has nothing to do with storage capacity. If you focus on storage capacity alone, and get stuck on compon…

This thread is about what add-ons you use, and the pro and cons of some add-ons. Mine currently are: Adblock Edge British English Dictionary [my native tongue dictionary is to be found at Dictionaries, not Addons, as it should. Dunno why in Firefox and in Pale Moon the en-UK dict. is listed as add-on...] Flash Video Downloader Ghostery Google Privacy Lastpass NoScript Suspend Tab Adblock Edge, Lastpass and NoScript are the minimal ones I need to install on every Palemoon (or Firefox, if I am not able to change the browser on that system) Adblock not only blocks the annoying, moving, flickering ads, it not even loads the ads, which makes loading of webpages …

Problems with boot, possibly bad SSD?
by Guest Astraeus- 0 replies

Hey everyone. I have an Asus UX31E ultrabook given to me by a friend. It came with Windows 7 but he installed Mint on it. I am unsure of how this problem came about but here is the issue the best I can describe, and what I have tried. I enter the password and see the Linux Mint logo and the message "cryptsetup: sda5_crypt set up successfully" Almost immediately it drops to BusyBox and (initramfs). I first tried to repair the boot sector thinking maybe it was damaged somehow. I ran Boot-…
