Hello all, I'm trying to run SCCM 2007 R3. Installation seems to have gone fine, however I do not seem to be able to syncronize my WSUS properly. In SCCM I see the logs: SMS_WSUS_CONFIGURATION_MANAGER MS WSUS Configuration Manager failed to configure upstream server settings on WSUS Server "myserver". and SMS_WSUS_SYNC_MANAGER The operating system reported error 2147500037: Unspecified error I have done some Google searches but found nothing to help solve this. If I open WSUS manually outside SCCM and run the sync it works fine. I have no idea what could be wrong. I've tried reinstalling the whole SCCM/WSUS system but no change. Anyone have any th…

Zune 3 and 4: A Look Back
by Guest BSchwarz- 0 replies

By Thurrott, Paul This retrospective covers the second half of Zune’s lifetime, from roughly 2008 through 2010, and encompasses the third and fourth generation of the platform’s software, services, and devices. Microsoft did something special there, but then they just let it die. And that’s a shame, because Zune was ultimately pretty darned good. It’s just too bad most people will never know this. By Thurrott, Paul As is the norm these days, I woke up to some insanity in the Technology section of The New York Times. A column credited to two writers from Reuters Breakingviews recommends that Microsoft sell off its Bing online search engine, which has become "a distraction." Should Microsoft really sell Bing? Over the last couple of weeks, Mozilla has finally stepped up its 64-bit testing process. There are now five slaves dedicated to building Firefox for Windows x64, which means that from Firefox 8 and onwards, you’ll be able to pick up 64-bit builds that are functionally identical to its 32-bit cousins but operating in native 64-bit CPU and memory space. When I first took 64-bit Firefox for a workout last year, it wasn’t the best of experiences: it crashed, JavaScript performance was abysmal, and it was generally sub-par compared to the stable, 32-bit branch. Today, however, Firefox 8 64-bit is stable and it’s fast it’s really, really fast. Even more importantly, though,…

By Thurrott, Paul With the digital music market bifurcating with the introduction of useful new services, we now have more choices than ever before, not just between the actual services themselves, but also between the types of music services we can access. If you’re a digital music lover and an avid consumer of this kind of content, it’s likely that you’ll want to use two or more of these services in tandem. And there is absolutely nothing wrong with that. Source: Win Super Site
