hi , I have found the in the c:\windows\system32 , there is a file named hmdebug.log. it is 4G. and there is almost 100,000,000 lines of D:\HEALTHMON\hmagent\action.cpp 0x8004106c what is it? -- Gordon

I turned on the automatic update for some of the servers. After the update system automatic shutdown,how can I change the setting so that it would not shutdown automatically and prompt u to shutdown ? This is standalone server.

Im running windows server 2003 on that server. and i also have other machines running exchange 2003 enterprise edition. the error is. Product: Exchange ID: 8108 Source: MSADC Version: 6.0 Component: Active Directory Connector Symbolic Name: MSG_SERVICE_FAILEDINIT Message: The initialization process failed. the Microsoft help pages give little help with this error. (the error gets logged on the event logs about every 5 minutes, yes i know it must have something to do with AD replication but then what? any guidance would be appreciated. -- ulyses96

The computer is configured initially with English locale settings. After .net framework 2.0 installation and all other setups, our c# program started to run properly. Howewer, just after a while, we noticed that the regional settings is wrong and changed to turkish. After restarting the computer and when the program starts, the program crashed abnormally. When we revert the change, the program run properly. Now I see a correlation between regional settings and .net code. The question is how can I handle the regional setting change without causing a crash?

I want to install an offline root CA and certificate on a new physical machine. I have a complete back up of the old machine. Both new and old run w2k3 server but have different physical equipment. I am planning to give the new machine the same name as the old machine so that the root certificate will still be valid. Any advice would be appreciated. Robert porter@paladinvest.com

Hi, I can surf the web, FTP works, but I can't ping. I pinged the loopback address and it worked fine. I can't ping my remote SQL Server database or sites that I know for fact have servers that don't reject pinging. DNS works fine. Why I care? From time to time (3 times in one year : december 2006, january and july 2007) my computer won't start. It is an ACER w/ Intel Duo w/ Windows XP SP2, manufactured in early 2006. The first two times, when I switched it on, it stayed on the first screen (the ACER screen) and didn't show the windows loading screen. I had to switch off manually (cut the power) and when I reestablished the power, the computer restarted directly, apparently from the point where it had stopped. I have a w2k+3 server and I enabled the firewall on it. I have an exception for file and print sharing but now i cannot map drives to this system from other pc's. what else should I be enabling, on the exception list, for the mapping to work.

I have enabled offline files for roaming users on laptops. I have My Document redirected to DFS share. When user work offline, and he click on file, it takes about 10 minutes, before open file. User get pop up window, telling him that \\server\......\Mydocument can not be access, but than user can work with that file normally offline. But if it clicks on different document, it will wait another ten minutes. User has no problem with txt files, only files that he open with MSoffice… If user work online, there is no problem. Offline file synchronize normally, when user work online.

The event log , application, security & system log is empty. I restarted the server, still empty. Pls help.

My boss is working out of town and he was logging into his laptop using his domain cached credentials. This was working fine until his laptop went into hibernation mode. After that, he tried to login with the same password at the "Locked" screen and it is not allowing him. I had this issue last week with someone else and we gave up until he simply got back. When he plugged back into the network, he logged into the domain and his credentials were once again cached properly. What would cause this, and is there a way to fix my boss now? I'd love it if he could get into his domain profile while away. How can I prevent this from happening again? This seems to be…
