I have a setup a domain on our test bench to test some disaster recovery scenarios. It has 2 windows 2003 Sp1 servers. One server is a domain controller and the second server is an exchange server 2003. Everything was working fine. I tested a disaster recover scenario where I trashed the exchange server 2003 and then rebuilt it again to see if I could recover it. I made backups of the system state and exchange server database. I have put this exchange 2003 server back on the test domain again as part of the recovery process. The problem I have know is that I can ping the domain controller from the exchange server but I cannot do vice versa, meaning…

Sorry for my interruption. I have a Vista Home Basic. I have long wanted to access the built in Administrator. I thought it is like XP Home and I could get in via safe mode. Then I can't get the window that allows me to enter user name and password. At present what I get is all the existing preset user names displayed for me to choose. Since the Administrator is not preset by me I don't have that shown up for me to select. I wonder if you can help me to get the window up so that I can enter user name and password to log on. The next thing I would like to know is how to prevent the window to show the user name of the person who last logs on. Thanks…

I have windows server 2003 x64 running in 2 servers that have the same configuration and are a part of a custer from Oracle (RAC). Some times one of servers crashes with the message: "The computer has rebooted from a bugcheck. The bugcheck was: 0x00000109 (0xa3a03a389148f4f0, 0x0000000000000000, 0xd89a905d7b98fd53, 0x0000000000000101). A dump was saved in: C:\WINDOWS\MEMORY.DMP." This situation happens most of the times in node 2 but once in a while it happens in node 1. Can anyone help me?

Hello, On a clean installation of Windows XP pro (CD SP1 - activation - installation SP2 and all the updates except .net Framework), while I had chosen French Belgium as layout of keyboard in the installation, I have an English keyboard and not means to add the other one. I have the possibility of adding the French Keyboard in the list of the Installed Services (in Services of text and languages of entry). But when I click on OK I have a bip and the French Keyboard disappeared. I tried other layouts of keyboard with the same result. Thanks JF

After every few times I restard, Aero has turned off and I have to go through this procedure again. Is this a known problem with a fix? Thanks... This weekend I installed Windows server 2003 on a clean machine with no other data on the drives. After the installation I turned on the external firewire drive I plan to use for backups and allowed the drivers to install normally. Over the last few days I've had some problems with the external drive and my backup software and went to format the drive to try to start over. It was at this point that I noticed under the Disk Manager that while my internal C: is listed as (Boot), the external E: is shown as (System). Well no wonder I can't format it... How did my external drive wind up as the system volume, and how can I move this back to C: where it belongs? Is i…
