I have installed MS Office 2000 onto my new Vista Business PC. I went to add the additional feature (Programs Features,MS Office,Change,Add Features,etc, etc) and when asked to locate the DATA1.MSI file, I put the CD in the Drive................but I was then presented with 'Error 1706. No valid source could be found for product Microsoft Office 2000'. I have an external drive on this PC, so I tried the CD in there............still no luck. I placed the CD on a shared drive on a Windows 2000 Server PC and it worked! Is this Vista being over protective and not allowing me to gain access to either (a) my own DVD drive!!, or (b) the DATA1.MSI file? I w…

there are creativity packs for Windows XP -- so are there any for windows vista? thanks

I am using the Calendar but I don't want it to start up when windows starts. I want to open and close it manually. How can I keep the Calendar from opening automatically?

is there a way to easily pull this info from a group of servers? I would imagine there is some application out there that will do this for me? I would just like to be able to track how often the server is shutdown.. how long it is down.. and if the shutdown was for auto updates (I haven't looked but I assume when you hit the restart button from a windows update it logs this info for you) we are also looking in to a central monitoring system (system center, altiris) but from the research ive done so far I don't see these kind of reports.
