I would like to make the scroll button active ONLY for the window the mouse is over. .. I hate it when you are in Windows explorer and try to scroll down a list of folders in the left column and the right window scrolls through files, You have to click on a folder and it opens that folder (which is NOT what you intended). or If you are filling out a form and you just entered the number of passingers for Northwest, go to another area on the form and accidently hit the scroll button changing the number of passingers from 2 to 4!!!!! How do you make the scroll button work ONLY for the window you are mousing over? I have Windows XP and looked at the mou…

Hi, I have XP Pro and having some LAN probs.. Box 1 can access other XP box's dirs and files which are shared but they can't access Box 1 dirs files which are also shared. It was okay for 3 years so not sure what it is. Can get to the i'net okay through Gateway hub. I have uninstalled the LAN adapter and on reboot it came in again but no difference. Could be related.. In LAN/Properties/Advanced it says WMI might be corrupted. I am trying to find Firewalls to see how they are set, but can't find them. Any help please? rock

Hello, how can I include print drivers written for Vista into a Windows 2003 Printserver in order to publish/distribute the printer in the AD ? The Windows 2003 server has at printer properties (Tab "Sharing") the Button "Additional Drivers" only the option to include/install drivers for Windows 200x, XP, NT4, 9x and the Itanium-platform plus Intel x64 -but no entry/option for Vista. What can I do in order to include them? I can imagine, that I´m not the only one with this problem - there must be thousands of companies around the world with this problem. Hi, I have a print.C which on compilation results in print.exe. This exe invokes the Windows Printer Dialog Box when PrintDlg function is being called. I've got an external USB HDD. When I explore it I see just the one folder I created on it. When I ran back-up software it found 2GB+ Recycler and $Recycle.Bin folders. Is there a way to make them visible, and more importantly, how do I empty them if I can't make them visible. I have Show Hidden Files checked and the Recycle Bin on c: is visible. Thanks. Ken

After the most recent auto updates from microsoft upon restart the monitor came up black with a blinking cursor in the upper left hand corner. I tried control alt delete a few times which brought me a black screen with the following message "Previous attempts at booting this system have failed at checkpoint [uSBd]. After about 5 minutes a reboot screen came on and I chose normal reboot and could get into windows. Each time I shutdown or restart my system I seem to have to go through the same process. Does anyone know how to get rid of this and why the latest updates might have caused this? -- C V

I have used Easy Transfer Companion, now on a total of 3 systems. This last time, on 7/15/07, it transferred some programs that were not 'checked' to be transferred. Ok I can delete most of them. One of them, is a Microsoft product... Plus Pack for XP. I cannot uninstall it (it starts to uninstall, and then starts the speech recognition setup dialog--- go figure). I need someone to help me with the registry edits to expunge this program. XP Plus is no longer a supported program, and definitely doesn’t belong on Vista, so I need some help. I cannot locate any way to contact the developers of Easy Transfer Companion. I know it’s still in beta, tha…

I've got an XP pro system in a domain. On the XP I can rdp out to the server successfully. On the server I cannot rdp to the XP system. I fill in the server name, or the ip address -it doesn't matter, and click on connect. The connection window refreshes itself and that is all that happens. Port 3389 is configured in the firewall on both systems. The RDP capability is configured on the XP system and the appropriate user has been granted permission to log on to the system. There are no policy problems. And 5 other workstations in the domain work as expected. It is just this one system that cannot be RDPed to. Anybody have any ideas? Denny

Here's an easy simple way to disable Spybot Search & Destroy so you will be able to downonload Windows updates if you get this message..... "Windows Update has encountered an error and cannot display the requested page". Error 0x80070020 How? Right click the spybot icon (on the start bar near the clock) and choose "Exit Spybot-S&D Resident". As simple as that. You can go back an enable it after you update.
