I found this a start. I still continued to get the error message after activating auto updates. The problem was that i was installing from an original XP Pro install CD. I needed to also install the Windows Genuine Advantage plugin. Once that was installed Windows Update managed to complete it's checks. I understand you KB935807 was showed as installed correctly in Windows Update history, but it still keeps popping up. Since update is very important for the security of Windows, I suggest we do not just turn it off. However as KB935807 has been installed due to the history, we can hide it in Windows Update, then it will not pop up again and we can obtain other updates to keep Vista up to date. For your convenience, I would like to give the detail way to hide KB935807. 1. Click Start, go to the Search textbox, type in "Windows Update" (without the quotation marks) and press Enter. 2. On the right, click “View available updates†under “Install upda…

I have been given pictures on a cd and can get a preview panel when using the cd. However when I copied them to my computer I can only get a thumbnail and no preview panel. I can however preview other images in my pictures it is just these particular pictures. I recently had a problem with getting a message that windows could not find a file before that window actually opened and edited the DDE setting of certain files which fixed this problem. I am not sure if they are at all related but I can only think of that recent change. Thanks for any help.

Hi... Tried this question earlier, but didn't get any response. Please let me know, if the question is unclear.... I've made a full backup of my C: drive, using Vista's backup feature. I've saved the backup on a local disc, called my E- drive. Then I have formatted the C-drive, and reinstalled Vista. I wanted to restore some of the files from the backup, Documents etc. but now Vista is telling me that there is no backup on the selected drive. Even though I can see the backup in Explorer. It's around 90 Gb... I have changed from Vista Ultimate to Vista Business, but that shouldn't make a difference, or what ? Any other programs that can help me getting access…

USB storage devices have gained popularity. It can be host to viruses, Trojans, hacker toolkits, worms or other forms of malicious programs. For example, when you plug your USB disk into a computer that is infected by viruses, viruses will create a file named AUTORUN.INF and malicious programs on your USB disk. Then, when you plug the USB disk to another computer, the one will be at risk. Threats from USB storage devices to computer have been a huge security risk for businesses and individuals. I am trying to run DotNetNuke (an ASP.NET 2.0 based content management system) on a Win2003 development machine, but I think I may have some sort of problem with permissions. I'm not really sure if this is a DNN issue, but more likely something I have misconfigured in Win2003. The install of DNN went fine, but the performance of the DNN install is extremely slow on the LAN, but apparently fine from outside. When I work on the site on the Win2003 machine the performance is still slow on my user account, but it runs fine on the machine's Administrator account. I'm not really a Win2003 admin expert, so I am not really sure where to look for this. Is it possib…
