While I'm in a profile with Administrative rights on a machine running XP Pro and IE 7, I can't drag and drop favrites in the list while I'm in it. I have to go into 'organize favorites' to do this. Not very efficient. In another profile it works fine... any help is appreciated. We do not change any settings in GPEDIT.

I just received a new Dell and it came with Windows Vista installed. Everything was fine through initial setup, but during the middle of the day, a security alert popped up in my tray telling me my automatic updates were off. So, I went to turn them on, and it wouldn't do it automatically, so I had to do it manually, when I went into the control panel to access automatic updates, I found that automatic updates and the whole Windows Update didn't work. I open the window and nothing is in there except the green shield icon. It looks like a bug, but I don't know. Does anybody know what the problem may be?

whenever i try to upload a video i recorded through my WinTV, it comes up with this message: "C:\MyVideos\_BBC ONE_20070717_193021.mpg could not be imported. An interface has too many methods to fire events from" Any ideas why this would be? Because i done one the other night and it worked, and all of a sudden this keeps comming up. Please help!!

Nigel, I am happy that you mention the Tuning facility in the control panel. I need you to tell me how to find it and get my performance rating checked out. I feel i have poor performing and sending dummy instructions that cause some confused items. Can you remember how to find that tuning device. I am still stumbling all around and learning this version. Any comments are welcome by vista ultimate users I hope that Microsoft can do what you asked, i think is a very EXCELLENT IDEA!

Hello, I installed latest version (6.1) of Windows Mobile Device Center and can only sync contacts but not calendar Items to my Cingular 8125 device. Whenever I choose to sync calendar it errors out saying about "problem on desktop". Any ideas?

I have updated to Windows update 3.0. I have a policy in place which sets update server to http://servername:8530 Has this port been changed with ver 3.0 or will the policy still be accurate for update to work on PC. Thanks,

"The device sent an incorrect response(s) following a keyboard reset." Just lately, the multimedia keys on my HP (Compaq) keyboard often do not work correctly. Some keys (like volume up/down and mute) did still work, but the on-screen displays are missing. The "internet" keys do not work at all. I noticed in the Event Viewer the error mentioned above occurs at a boot up, source i8042prt, and this appears to stop the HP keyboard extension driver KBD.exe from running correctly. I am printing an excel document using win xp and a usb cable connected to a Samsung ML-1710. >From the print preview, a number of problems exist to what is actually printed. The problems are, cutting off text at the bottom of page, omitting footer, moving the header to the left side of page. I have reinstalled the printer driver and Samsung says it is a problem with the program used to print (excel). Any suggestions?

I have a wierd question of something that is bothering me. My laptop after syncronizing my offline files will not automatically close teh sync dialog box. Of ocurse there are some fiels thart don't sink and some I made not sync. But even though it tells me this, I still want to to close with having to select close. I have seen it close auto matically many times on other machines. Any ideas would be most helpful.

I was experiencing same issue with same error unable to load amdide.sys when using the DELL Server Assisted Install CD on Dell 400SC PowerEdge I downloaded most recent image of this CD (2.4_DSA_SC_A00.iso) from Dells Support and Drivers page. In spite of having rejected the Serial ATA optional update for NForce chipsets offered by Windows Update, "it" silently decided that it was imperative and installed by itself at around 2:00 am while I was peacefully sleeping. Woke up at 7:00, went to check my e-mail but the only thing I could see was a BSOD with crash dump and etc. Powered off, rebooted, and Vista x64 would freeze when assemlbing the desktop. I cannot get it to install either and am about ready to call MS Support at 800-936-5700. They offer FREE phone support for security issues and helped me immensely yesterday after trouble installing a .NET 1.1 patch, then getting me converted to 2.0, which is where I'm at now with the current install problem. Hi all. My windows 2000 file server has serveral warnings "The server was unable to find a free connection n times in the last 60 seconds". I have tried setting my minfreeconnections and maxfreeconnections to 256 and 4096 respectively but still face the same problem. Base on this website http://support.microsoft.com/kb/830901 i can set my minfreeconnections and maxfreeconnections to 512 and 16384 respectively, however my srvsvc.dll file is an earlier version than the 5.0.2195.6930 required. Hence how can i update the version of srvsvc.dll file in my win2k server? Can i copy from win2003 server and overwrite it? Thks in advance.
