Hi, I have a multifunctional Canon Pixma MP830 all-in-one device and has worked for a long time with no problem. But nowadays, i'm receiving error "cannot communicate with scanner" which is very common error about Canon's Twain driver. I have no problem acquiring to the TWAIN, however i can see the twain interface but the problem comes out while scanning process is about at half, it fails scanner's lid stucks and freezes saying error "cannot communicate with scanner". The biggest and strangest clue is that MP Navigator (Canon's standart scanning soft) fails during scanning, but another applications like MS Imaging and Scanning Wizard or ACDSee can scan "fin…

After reinstalling WMP 11after a conflict with a G15 applet windows media player always opens maximised whereas before it opened in the same sized window that I was last running (the normal player resized to fit the lower-right quarter of the screen). The properties of the wmp 11 icon are set to open in a normal window and rolling back to wmp 10 still presents the same issue. I have posted this issue in the windows media player forum but nobody bothered to reply. TIA Dave

K56flex or v.90 modem required, Pacific Bell discribed this problem. Dial-In Locations where there are Different 56K and 33.6 Kbps Dial-In Numbers If you have a modem with 33.6 speeds or less, or if you have an x2 technology 56K modem, you must continue to dial into the current 33.6 Kbps dial-in number. The reason for this is that our 56K modem pools have been optimized for K56flex or v.90 modems only. Users who attempt to dial into our 56K modem pool and who do not have a K56flex or v.90 modem will not see speeds associated with 56K and may experience significant connection and performance difficulties. Go to the 56K FAQ for help on finding out what kind of mode…

Hi all, I'm working on a project to integrate Macs to a predominantly Windows Server 2003 Active Directory network. In a test environment, I've joined an iMac to Active Directory and can successfully logon with different Active Directory accounts. I then want to print to network printers. This is most reliably achieved using UNIX standards on the iMac and on the Windows Server 2003 box. So, I've installed Print Services for UNIX on the server, created a printer and shared it.
