I can't get any task to run from hibernate mode. It will wake the machine up, then just sit there. Sometimes the task history shows me the task has completed. Other times, it moves the task to the next scheduled time. I have tried selecting the option to run missed tasks as soon as possible, but that doesn't help. The odd thing is it will run tasks from standby mode with no problem.

Hallo Vista Group Hope it is the right Group for my Quistion ! My name is Jens - I have read about those DreamScenes made by Stardocks - Dream WinCostomise http://dream.wincustomize.com/index.aspx Who can be played by a program called Stardocks Desksaapes. I tried to down load it - But it said : "Can only be used be Vista Ultimate" My PC have Vista Home Premium 32 bit, who was pre-installed. And I know that it is a Extra Feature for Ultimate ! Never the less - I am interesting in seeing some of those nice DreamScenes in larger sites - Or maybe even as living films. - I have seen a few SeaTurdle, Clowds, Underwater, RollerCoster, who also are DreamS…

I hate software that doesn't completely uninstall. Is it possible within Vista to log the files/folders software puts on the hard drive and the changes it makes to the registry?

Anyone else have this problem? Sometimes I go to my start menu and some icons are missing. I have to log off and then log back on to get my icons back. I've figured out that the icons that end up missing from the start menu are those start menu items tied to the user folder...IE: C:\Users\Dean\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu. Anyone know what the deal is?? I don't know if this happens with Vista style start menu. I use the classic style start menu. Thanks In Advance.

I have a little program that I run at start-up (to remind me of the important things I have to do that day). Is there a way that I can run this program when the PC resumes from standby or when I exit hibernation? Thanks?

We have a W2K IIS 5.0 Server with a website configured for anonymous authentication. It's been working fine for more than a year. After applying some July 2007 W2K updates, users suddenly started getting a Windows authentication login prompt. I checked the site and it's still set for anonymous access. The anonymous user account seems okay (not locked or disabled). Then I ran Authentication and Access Control Diagnostics 1.0 tool and discovered BUILTIN\Administrators, NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM and BUILTIN\Users now have insufficient Server and Registry permissions. For example, BUILTIN\Administrators HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\IISAdmin registry p…
