I am trying to boot virtual guest from phisical disk (under VMWARE) and I receive STOP: 0x0000007B. I think I need SCSI drivers (propably LSI because only LSI is avaible when we use phisical disk). I need these drivers for Longhorn Server 64 bit (Maybe for vista or 2003 will be good - Do anybody know?). Do anybody know where can I download these drivers? Moreover how to install these drivers (I can boot this machine normally without virtualization and it is working OK)? Is any posibility to add this drivers to the system when I have access to the filesystem?

My PC recently froze at the PCI device listing page and would not start. I input the recover DVD and after a few hours and a lot of updates got started. Any idea what would cause the freeze and also I now seem to have a lot of files created/duplicated by the recovery, can these be deleted and if so how. -- Jim

I have an email acount with my employer, which I use without a problem running Outlook 2003 with Windows XP SP2 and IE7, as a POP3/SMTP account. My employer uses a certificate for the server, which is the same for the intranet site. Now on my new notebook I want to run Windows Vista with Office 2007 (i.e. Outlook 2007). I have the certificate installed, and can go to the intranet without problems. I enter exactly the same email acount settings as before, which include: - 'My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication' / 'Use same settings as my incoming mail server' - 'Server Port Numbers' specified for both incoming server (POP3) and outgoing serve…

Hello, I recently installed a russian program on my PC as admin. But now I can't read the name of the prog beneath the desctop icon (it is written in some strange symbols with accents). Then if I start the prog there is a massage which should read something like "Please insert the program CD to verify your installation" but instead I get "????...". That would'nt be that much of a problem, but I get the same problems while working with it: all the buttons have either strange symbols on them or they are covered in questionmarks. Can anyone give me a tip? Every suggestion is welcome, thanks, MM -- Win xp pro sp2 Language & Location:Ger

When we customize folders, the folders will often swap the pictures placed on them with random pictures in the "pictures" folder. Some will re-check the "Also apply this template to all sub-folders." check box after we uncheck it and close the "Properties" window. I do not know if this is happening to all folders, but it is not happening to all of the folders at the same time. Also, in "My Folders", the folders have random pictures on them even though some of them do not have "Customize" tabs or contain pictures. At least once, 5 of the folders inside of another folder took on the exaxt same random picture. I have checked the folders from the top down, restting …

Hi, A tech support (idiot) clown from Startech.com insists that Window XP SP2 Device Manager / Ports (COM & LPT) / PCI Serial Port Properties should have a tab for "Data Rate" and an option to "Detect Clock Frequency" but I cannot find either. I have all currently available MS updates, hotfixes, patches, etc. When I first loaded Windows XP SP2, I chose to use Classic windows over XP windows and disabled Themes to ensure it. Would this choice eliminate the Data Rate tab and its various options? If so, when I roll back to XP windows, this tab does not appear. Any thoughts? Thank you. Anna Arkin

I'm running WinXPProSP2. I like to ask a favor of someone who has a working "Administrative Tools > Computer Management > Storage > Disk Management. My Disk Management won't open. I get an error "Disk Management Console failed to connect to the remote computer because Disk Management remoting serivce is not in the Windows Firewall exception list. Add .....dmremote.exe...to Firewall exception list and try again." This from a "Local System" services 'dmserver' and 'dmadmin'. Seems I read somewhere in this forum that it isn't even possible w/ XP. And if it is possible, it should be listed like "editing remote registry" in services which XP theoreti…
