Vista Start Menu Problem
by Guest dean.rush@gmail.com- 0 replies

Anyone else have this problem? Sometimes I go to my start menu and some icons are missing. I have to log off and then log back on to get my icons back. I've figured out that the icons that end up missing from the start menu are those start menu items tied to the user folder...IE: C:\Users\Dean\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu. Anyone know what the deal is?? I don't know if this happens with Vista style start menu. I use the classic style start menu. Thanks In Advance.

I have a little program that I run at start-up (to remind me of the important things I have to do that day). Is there a way that I can run this program when the PC resumes from standby or when I exit hibernation? Thanks?

The anonymous user account seems okay (not locked or disabled). Then I ran Authentication and Access Control Diagnostics 1.0 tool and discovered BUILTIN\Administrators, NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM and BUILTIN\Users now have insufficient Server and Registry permissions. For example, BUILTIN\Administrators HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\IISAdmin registry p…

I have WinXP+SP2, it works stable for many days (24/7) without rebooting and turning off. But sometimes it stops to turn on it's screen saver and does not turn off it's screen. Repetitive inputs the settings through Control Panel do not fix the problem. This could be fix by rebooting or sometimes this is fixing by itself. I could not catch what is the source. Prompt me please, what can be cause and how I can fix it without rebooting. Thank you Lev

After the install was complete, I put my D: drive back in but it didnt register as a drive although it showed up in disk manager as a healthy drive with no partition. I thought it was that I had it formatted as FAT32 but it was always NTFS, the partition just got damaged, probably when Windows Vista tried to change it without first getting my…
