Program auto-startup returning from Standby?
by Guest +Bob+- 0 replies

When my computer is sent to StandBy, I have it set up to prompt for a username and password. Following the login, I need a program to execute (much like you'd have a program execute at normal login via a reg key or start menu -> start entry. I'm familiar with the keys that execute at "normal" login, but are there any keys or other features that execute at Windows (re)login from Standby?

Hi, I have contacted Microsoft about the hotfix for the BSOD. I was told that the hotfix was included in SP1, which I have installed already. I get the error Page_Fault_Not_In_Correct_PageArea. The server does not boot up right away. It restarts in a cyclical fashion and finally kicks over where I have to login. Once logged in the BSOD shows and the rebooting occurs. Any ideas as to what I can do to correct situation? Thanks -- Hutty

Dear list, For a client i am working at improving the policies for their windows network (windows 2003, domain, 6 servers). One of the options we want to use is the possibility to redirect the start-menu in order to create centralised start-menu's. I have this basicly working: Created a share \\server\startmenu ans placed all necesery items in here and created a test-policy to enable the folder redirection for the start- menu. I have now the following problem: In the \\server\startmenu-share i created a folder "programma's" (dutch for programs). However, after logging in, the programs item in my start-menu shows: "leeg", meaning "empty". Whenever i rename …

I am experiencing a problem with offline folders. I have a laptop with Office 2003 SP2 and XP SP2, I have performed a windows and office update and installed all available patches. My offline folders will synchronize fine, however if I try to save a new word document whilst offline to my offline folder office freezes and I cannot use my laptop (this problem also occured whilst using excel). If I amend an existing document and perform a save it works fine.

by Guest eganders- 0 replies

Mouseover. How to make the scroll button active only for the window (pane) or entry box that the mouse is ON. I would like to make the scroll button active ONLY for the window the mouse is over. .. I hate it when you are in Windows explorer and try to scroll down a list of folders in the left column and the right window scrolls through files until you click in that pane. THEN it opens that folder (which is NOT what you intended). or If you are filling out a form and you just entered the number of passingers for Northwest, go to another area on the form and accidently hit the scroll button changing the number of passingers from 2 to 4!!!!! …

Hi, We have an old w2003sp2 dc 'mydomain' which gets low on available disk space. We want to replace the disk in this server to a bigger one, starting from fresh with a new installed and updated w2003r2 os, get all the users over with their home folders and roaming profiles. (The latter folders are inaccessible for the administrator) and - finally rename the domain to mydomain.local (to avoid single label domain name dns problems). Should we set up a second w2003r2 as secondary dc and try to get home$ and profiles$ copied over to this box as the first step? Does it exist good white papers on how to get home foldes and profiles over to a second…

Hi Newsgroup, I just want to share a bad experience that we had with the SP2 on Windows 2003 Server Standard English R2. The installation was fine but afterwards the remote administration was gone. Which means that the remote clients accessing the server reacted like there is no terminal service active. We set the [x] in "Control panel > System > Remote Administration" several times. There we reassigned users that are allowed for remote access. We checked the firewall for problems with the remote port. Microsoft ISA Firewall reported successfull pass through of remote access. To verify that the ISA is not the problem we removed the firewall and swit…
