Trace how users access files (i.e. mapped drive or UNC)?
by Guest John- 0 replies

Is there any way to do this? I need to redo our folder structure and I'd like to find out if anyone is accessing files/folders via UNC rather than our mapped drives (per the login script). Wasn't sure if there was something on the server (auditing) or if I would have more luck from info on the client. If at all? Thanks in advance!

Good Morning and thanks in advance for you assistance. I work in a school and have muliple network printers throughout labs in my building. I have all of the printers configured on a dedicated W2K3 Print Server and then mapped within each lab for the printers I wish them to have when they logon. I would like to redirect the jobs to the teachers workstation so she can approve and allow to continue to the printer device. I have this running in another lab that has high end Xerox printers that come with dedicated SUN machines that are running software to do this. I redirected the printer through the ports > configure tab and point it to a queue name and port …

Accessing wireless with Vista and Intel wireless
by Guest Chris- 0 replies

We are having some issues with browsing the Internet via wireless on Vista computers. The computer connects to the access points and is getting a valid IP address, but isn't able to browse the Internet. OS: Vista (doesn't matter what version) APs: 3Com Wireless Cards: Intel (different versions) PC Make: Any. On "home networks" everything works fine. We found a "work around" by installing the latest XP drivers for the wireless cards on Vista machines. Everything works just fine then. Does anyone have any ideas what the source of the issue might be? Thanks for any information. Chris
