When I run my application (Windows Forms application) in Windows Vista I get large form objects which cannot be accessed because they expand beyond the boundary of the form. This is happening for every form item (Text boxes, Labels Buttons and even the Form Title) except the background image. What could be the cause for this behavior and is there anyway to prevent this from happening?

I'm trying to transfer files from my old XP computer to my new Vista computer. Midway or near the end of each (50+ hours) transfer, I keep getting a "... Failed: \HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\5.0\user Agent\Post Platform... Access Denied" message. Any idea what's wrong with my old XP settings and how to fix this? Thanks, YC

I'm trying to publish a personal calendar to the web from Windows Calendar - I'd use Outlook but the 2007 Home and Student release doesn't contain it. I have webspace that does not have the WebDAV capability on it right now for $5/mo more than what I'm already paying (and I already pay $5/mo for the service...) I can upgrade my package and add it. However, I'm trying to publish to "iCal Exchange" which IS WebDAV enabled. But - Windows Calendar won't upload it it tells me that the network path (copied and pasted from iCal Exchange) couldn't be found. Is there a restriction on that path that I'm not seeing? If not, how can I get it to upload the calenda…

Users are logging off in terminal server without shutting down a certain msaccess application . My solution which I haven't implement yet, is run a logoff script that checks whether the LDB is present in the local directory and prevent logoff if it exists. Problem is, users could close the batch file and bypass shutting down the application correctly. Is there another better approach?? cheers Astro

I was attempting to add a second hard drive to my Vista machine, however I discovered that I had SATA devices and the drive was IDE. After rebooting, I received the Bootmgr is missing. In changing the boot options, I can boot to my hard drive, however I wanted to attempt to boot to the Vista DVD to repair, however when choosing boot to CDROM drives, it gives the bootmgr missing error again. Seems I get the error when attempting to boot to CD/DVD ROM drives, as well as USB devices. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Running Vista Business on an HP machine with a PSC 1410 printer. Connecting to a remote computer via Remote Desktop Connection we are able to make the connection and use the software on it, but when attempting to map our default local printer it does not show available in the list of printers. The Printers box is checked in the Local Resources tab of the RDP connection and the printer works normally when not in a remote session. The printer is connected via USB. Any help appreciated, as every question of this type I've seen in any forum seems to remain unanswered :-( Mike

Hi! Given a particular name, is there a simple way of determining by what means Windows XP resolved that name into a network address? That is, if I type in a name and Windows resolves that to an IP address, how do I know if it resolved the name via the DNS cache, a DNS server, WINS cache, WINS server or the hosts file? While I'm asking, is there also a trivial way to find out which interface packets aimed at a given IP address will be sent to (without having to figure it out oneself, obviously)? Cheers, mm

Hi all, I know therer are a number of postings on similar subjects and I have read then all to resolve my problem...but I havent found an answer! My PC does not recognise any new memory / pen drives I have tried three so far. One had drivers on a disc and the other two should have been able to run on the drivers within XP SP2 but dont. I have tried to download the drivers from the manufacturers web site but this still does not work as my XP tells me there is a problem with the hardwear and will not run it. The PC knows i am attaching devices as it pings when I stick it in the USB slot. I do have an old pen drive from work that runs with no problems at all. …

every time I boot up I get the "host process has stopped working.....windows will notify you when there is a problem", but part of the glitch is you can't download updates, This ( http://support.microsoft.com/kb/940520 ) claims to fix the problem, but it doesn't, also when I start up I get the error message 2 or 3 times and my screen goes blank for a few seconds, this is a new laptop with barely anything on it. When is mega-god microscoft going to address this??????
