Hello, I'll admit my mistake first - I stupidly removed a device from a usb hub that was working fine previously - without the safe removal option - The device is an external wifi plugin on a desktop - now it refuses to work - and seemingly doesn't allow re-installing. This device - Pheenet 802.11g USB wasn't assigned a Windows digital key - but it did load up ok the first time - all the problems stem from me pulling it from the hub. Every time I re-install, all works fine for a few minutes, then an 'unsafe device removal' box appears and the wifi box and connection disappear. hello I`m getting a strange problem regarding low disk space in windows... in last 3 days 30 gb is just missing ! treesize doesn`t show anything... event viewer show strange errors, something as The user was not reloaded from registry....bla bla...because of low disk space. Downloaded UPHclean from Microsoft... didn`t do shit checked for viruses, aah ckhecked for everything... please help

Vista Ultimate 64bit 4 Gb memory Strange situation where a few programmes stop responding (specifically Shareaza and BitLord), but will not properly quit - either leaving a ghost window on the desktop, or still showing in as a running resource under Task Manager that refuses to End Process. Only way out is to restart, and then that can take a very long time, sometimes me resorting to the Off button. It's only started this in the last month after running fine - any (polite) suggestions gratefully received. Paul

I have a bunch of DVDs that I have burned with my digital photos. In a given folder I would have multiple file types but with the same base name (e.g. XXX_1000.tiff, XXX_1000.jpg). I already have it displayed as View > Details. But when I view a subfolder, it always displays it with View > Arrange Icon By... > Location Show in Groups and I want it to be Name Don't show in Groups How can I force it so that the above is the default view for any CD/DVD? TIA

I have a client I'm working with to solve his Internet connection issues. He's using a laptop with Vista Ultimate on it. When he has it in the office and he plugs into his LAN - he'll get a dialog box asking what type of connection. he chooses "work" and it works fine. He gets an IP from his DHCP and is able to log into the domain and see other computers on the netowrk and surf the web. No problems there. When he takes his laptop home - he chooses "home" for the type of connection. However, he only gets the nasty 169.x.x.x IP address preventing him from surfing the web. I really like this gaget (Microsoft/Biometric Reader), but I find it does not recognize certain sites' log in pages. On these sites, there are no other screens to log in on. Is there any way to work around this problem? Thanks

I would like to recieve support on a problem which keeps happening on my Dell 9300 notebook, whenever I insert a diskonkey, and try to access the files on it, the program stops respounding and it feels like the device stalls or hangouts... I tried to format the device without success.. I have tried this with another diskonkey and it rendered the same problem. The diskonkey Ive used was a FAT format. I have a user who opens and prints docs using the windows file and fax viewer in windows xp. However, her print icon on the bottom toolbar is suddenly missing. I tried the command regsvr32 /i shimgvw.dll to reinstall but it didn't help. Any ideas? Thanks

Hi I tried to install a Dell update (Vista Home Premium, Admin account, Brand new machine runs great) and its gets to about 70 percent then just stops. I then installed other progs without issue but..... Tried to install Messenger live and this does the same but at 0% no errors just doesn't do anything...ever. If I kill the installers and try again windows says that I am already running an install. The only way around is to restart. I have removed all relevent temps etc but neither of these will go in. No errors or entries in firewall or AV or from windows. How can I figure out whats going on? It just sits there supposedly installing forever. …

Hey guys, My netbackup software has been failing on all 4 x64 servers I put into production. After working with Symantec, we've determined that VSS is the culprit. Using ntbackup, I tried to do a system state backup on the servers and they failed. I have a Sony Vaio laptop with inbuilt "Motion Eye" video camera. It works fine with the Sony camera capture software but Windows Live Messenger seems to cause problems. When I start Messenger, the camera usually works fine but if I completely exit Messenger (closing the notifications area icon too) and then start it back up, it just says "This camera is in use by another program". If I then go into the Sony camera capture software, it tells me the same. It seems that only Windows Live Messenger causes this problem as I have open and closed the Sony Camera Capture software many times without problems.
